Lagos residents express satisfaction with power supply

Some residents of Lagos have commended the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) and the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, for improved power supply.
The residents gave the commendation in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
A resident of Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Mr Bola Ogun, said that the improvement in power supply had created comfort.
“It is obvious that power supply in this area has really improved and we are happy.
“You know, when there is constant power supply, life becomes much more comfortable because now we can sleep comfortably at night and artisans now depend less on generating sets,’’ he said.
A resident of Ojo, Mr Tajudeen Idowu, was also excited about the improved power situation.
“In recent times, we have been enjoying improved power supply and we are happy about that.
“Though it is not yet 24 hours uninterrupted power supply but it has remarkably improved and I commend PHCN and Mr Babatunde Fashola, the minister in charge of power for a job well done.
“We can only hope that the improvement will continue after the rainy season because some people are saying that it is because of the rains,” Idowu said.
A resident of Shomolu, Mrs Faith Ayeni, decried the epileptic power supply in the area.
“Some residents have been commending PHCN for improved power supply but that has not been the case here in Shomolu.
“For more than one week now, we have not had electricity here and I can only appeal to the authorities to come to our aid,” she said.
Mr Tasiu Wudil, an Assistant General Manager, Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), called on engineers to play active part in the sector.
“I call on engineering personnel in Nigeria to avail themselves with the vast opportunities in the power sector reforms in the interest of national growth and development.
“The Nigerian power sector has gone through a lot of transformation and so much effort has gone into reforming the sector but Nigerians have not seen much improvement in the sector.
“We call on our home-grown engineers to buy into the sector and introduce international best practices in the interest of Nigerians,” Wudil said.

Fashola and PMB did What 16 years of PDP and jona couldn't do even after looting $20 billion power fund in less than 2 years...

Imagine what we can do in 4 years....

The best is yet to come...

Happy independent day.

The light has gone back to being poor. . . For over a week in Alimosho, there's been blackout.

it was as a result of a damaged transmission line which just got fixed yesterday, expect power in the coming week

Power supply all over the country is commendable despite the unavailability of gas especially in Kano state where it still seems like a miracle.

For those attributing it to rainfall, please tell me, was there no rain throughout the previous administration?

Unfortunately, he exercises low degree of influence in the value chain. He only has control over transmission at large, NERC is independent of him either. so he has little or on interference. But stupid wailers would continue wailing on him. Stupid wailers, crying wailers.
Accept the truth!

If your memory was functional, you will remember there was a similar improvement during the rainy seasons of last year. It happens like that yearly but you need brains to notice it.

Not interested in your silly and made up ignorant ipob nonsense..

You can start by showing us documented facts to back up your claims with including the ones that says Nigeria achieved over 5000MW under 16 years of PDP, jona and even since independence.. Do that or keep quiet..

First ask Buhari's speech writers to go for math lessons.

In the speech, bubu boasted that Nigeria produces 5000mw of electricity and gives out 5700 to 7000mw. where did the extra electricity come from? Can you distribute what you did not produce?
