See How A Private School In FESTAC Is Helping The Poor. by adorablevincy: 10:53pm On Oct 04, 2016
I was so much touched when I saw a lady and some young men approach me with some fliers from a particular private school in FESTAC town Amuwo Odofin Lagos state. At first I looked at the flier and wanted to discard it but on a second thought I decided to make jest of them and use them to chat away time. Little did I know that I was in for a discovery. I asked them to tell me what the flier was for? The young lady who sounded very politely and friendly told me sir, it's a school flier, we are going around trying to let people know that their children and wards can still go to school with little cash involvement. I asked her to explain what she meant by that. She told me that they understand the impart of the recession on the economic power of so many families who have many children to train in school but can no longer afford it because of the cash constraints that many parents have. She said, we noticed that the recession have made some parents who can no more afford the high school fees paid in private schools to drop out some of their kids. Since we understand that teaching is a career done not for the love of money but for the desire to raise a knowledgeable and egalitarian society, our school came up with an opportunity to assist parents train their children and wards in school. With that they brought out the following assistance measures.
To enrol one child or ward 17,000
To enrol two children 17,000 for the one and 50%(8,500) for the second ward or child.
To enrol 3 children 17,000 and 50% for the rest of the two
To enrol 4 children 17,000 for first two and 50% for the remaining two. What amazed me most was that I visited this school. STAR CITY ACADEMY @ 208 road close B house 6 and I found out that they have a seren learning environment with cool minded staff handling the kids. I can be very inquisitive sometimes and I can make out time to make findings especially when you tell me something I consider not workable. When I got to the school, I was dumbfounded. I thank God that we have people who still remember the core values of their profession. If you live in FESTAC, take your child to school @ STAR CITY ACADEMY @ 208 ROAD B CLOSE HOUSE 6. I bet you will be shocked that such good minded people still exist in Nigeria.
