They will be powerless because the majority of Nigerians will be overwhelmed by his achievements, compared to those of any expired politician that will seek to contend against him, and vote again for him in higher numbers than we saw last year.

Just like their hatred votes failed them last year landing them in a four year wailing plague and ensuring their political irrelevance, the same will happen if they do so again. This is against the backdrop of the revelation by last year's results that the entire so called 5% region combined lack the electoral muscle to have any impact on PMB's re-election in 2019.

dude, your whole write up is very biased, if thats your view fine.

before you go out and say this where experienced financiers and economic analysts are pls research or read up on what triggered Nigeria's economic recession. pls you really need to enlighten yourself.

like i said the only blame you can place on GEJ is that he squandered yar adua savings, this is very true. what other criticism of him do you have that directly enabled the inflation? pls enlighten me if any.

i provided an article in one of my replies, read that up, i doubt you know better than sanusi or the author.

Now you call GEJ my pay master lol, nigger, i have never been interested in politics, and quite happy the GEJ left.

like i said again, buharis vision is very commendable, but how he is going about it is disastrous.

I have to agree with u that u r been objective or should I say u r trying to be objective, but u have to understand tht u dnt need to be an economist to know about inflation, i dnt nid to follow what sanusi said or any other person said to know the basic cause of inflation... I mean thts y we r graduates (I believe u r)....the underlying cause of inflation is due to lack of foreign exchange which is due to global fall of price of crude oil.

In addition to the above mentioned, d reduction in quantity of our only export which is did same crude oil is the basic cause of our predicament, I dnt need sanusi or lamido or emefiele to tell me that, even a pry6 kid know that. You will agree with me that the fall in price of crude oil has got nothing to do with buhari??, will u also agree with me that d crisis rocking d 9ja has nothing to do with buhari??.....I doubt if ull agree to d second anyways!!!

However, it is pertinent to note that the effect of this could have been greatly reduced if and only if we have beef up our reserves n listened to warnings of your goddess NOI........

You asked what else can I blame GEJ on for the situation we find ourselves, well there are alot

1) People say GEJ made gaint strides in agriculture and he put an agricultural minister who did very well, the question I always ask this people is. If u say he did very well please list his achievements and no one has been able to list one thing he did.....someone ones told me that "he gave phones to farmers".. Laughable!!!! right.
The main point here is we r still importing food, most of the money made under the last administration was used importation of fuel and food, so if this agricultural minister did so well, why can't we feed ourselves....5yrz is alot of time to plant and harvest.

2) GEJ and PDP did nothing to diversify the economy, when he had all d resources to do so, $2.1b is a lot of money that could have been able to create industries n all that, buh no it was carted away by hoodlums who call themselves politicians. Nothing was done to improve the power sector a lot was undone with so much income , that you have to wonder, what exactly was all that money used for. Are u aware that at a point during GEJs tenure we were borrowing to pay salaries??, we couldn't sustain the payment of subsidies because the marketers went stopped importing because of money been owed them, we started feeling the recession in Lagos already at tail end of GEJS tenure. During that famous scarcity of fuel in Lagos at the tail end of GEJs tenure I bought 5litres of fuel for 5000 naira. So I know the genesis of this problem.

3) Impunity: Failure of GEJ to strengthen our judicial system, fight corruption has led us into this, in an adminstration that is a free for all, there cannot be growth. Because is A is stealing without any consequence, then y should b not steal.

I could go on and on and on, you might not agree with me, but I know deep down u know that all these are the truth, its difficult to admit.

Can Mugabe be voted out in Zimbabwe?

Buhari would get at least 97% of total vote cast in 2019.

I pity those saying they would vote out Buhari in 2019, you can vote all you want but your vote won't be counted.
Welcome to the famous "one chance bus" and y'all should enjoy the ride, you were warned.

Just like you and ur cotravellers of naysayers never believed that a Jona will be booted out, right?

You keep peddling this your hollow opinion everytime thinking we should kiss ur feet because you are so smart to see what everyone else ddnt see!

Sage right? Hmm...smh

Son, there was a time when voting out an incumbent governor was unimaginable but it is so commonplace now. The booting out of Jonah has set the ball rolling in that sphere and if you think the SW. or the North will vote for PMB with abysmal performance, think again! Maybe the North will (i doubt) but you can bet with anything that the SW wont!

So chill and let Buhari's performance speak for him instead of always pontificating in the negative!

The standwithbuhari is conditional!

Buhari will simply be re-elected because he's the sitting president.

In Nigeria, 2nd term is a sure bet for presidos. Whether he performs or not

the only policy he made that impacted on corruption and the economy is the TSA,

now lets look at the incompetence of his elected officials, dude do not be deceived, why naira is 500 to a dollar today is due to the policies of emefiele. i can even list the policies and how it made naira jump from 150 to 250 then 300, 400, 450 and now 500.

it is all down to him and adeosun.

do you want me to link you to many articles detailing this.

listen, i am not a tribalist, neither do i support based on region, be objective, analyse with an open mind and don't be biased like the OP.

i swear i prefer a fashola presidency to buhari anytime any day and i aint yoruba. why because i think he is more brilliant and a forward and visionary thinker. not saying buhari have no merits, i have always stressed i admire his vision and to be honest, i hope he accomplish what is his target.

but other policies of his has been very very divisive, one sided and tribalistic to an extent.

Name two policies of his that has been divisive, one sided and tribal. Please don't give me hearsay or guesses, I want actual policies of his! Furthermore, let's take a close look at the value of the Naira. A country that relies on foreign products for the survival of its economy is not a country worth celebrating. Buhari is not a magician, you cannot fault him for the failures of Emefiele and Adeosun. We all wanted aristocrats and new thinking cabinet members, well these two as new thinking as it gets, you can look up their past accomplishments. Buhari could have easily recalled Soludo or recycle another one of the past financial experts but he didn't. The issue with the Naira goes beyond policies but curbing the greed within the banking system and reducing our imports of foreign goods. Till this is done, any fix will just be cosmetic, sad but true!

Buhari is doing an excellent job in my opinion. If Buhari so chooses to contest in 2019, he most certainly has my support and vote. The 5 percenter's votes are as inconsequential as 5%. Sai Buhari!

Laaaaal jonah's case was different because he was formerly a VP. 07-10 = 3 years,

Did 4 years as presido and you think he was going to get another 4 years?

Despite Jonah's incompetency, he still gave Buhari a run for his money

Why I took u up is because of ur comment that made it seem like Buhari wl be voted in SOLELY because he is an incumbent! That is ridiculous!

That ur permutation about Jonah being vice before becomin president, am sorry to say is all pedestrian hogwash!

No doubt contesting against an incumbent anywhere is not a walk in the park and some reasonable level of performance is needed to keep ur seat not just being an incumbent like u posited in ur initial comment! That's like saying that the economy will remain and evn get worse under pmb watch after four years and Nigerians in their numbers wl stil troop to still vote him BECAUSE he is an incumbent! Doesnt make sense.

Buharis performance shd either speak for him or he goes back to Daura.

your points are valid...... to an extent, all you mentioned can also be found during OBJs regime, as well as yar adua, the fashola i will vote for any day is also guilty of embezzlement, the borehole and website fiasco comes to mind, you just listed the general incompetence our leaders have always manifested, agriculture did not lead to recession, it will have reduced our dependence on importation but did not lead to recession, the 2.1 billion are part of the impunity and corruption during his regime that i have condemned right from my 1st reply in this thread, still did not lead to recession, we are talking about the direct policies, utterances and directives that led to the recession. PMB and his anointed ones are to blame. you know i am saying the truth but you just refuse to admit it. lets be honest to ourselves.

lets put tribal/regional differences aside and make this country great, the onus is on us the youth, if we protect and make excuses for these thieves called our leaders what future are we leaving for our kids.

i am taking my time to reply to you cuz from our convo i have actually learned a thing or 2, unlike the OP who is obviously a PMB crony you have made an attempt to be unbiased so far.

I disagree with you once more, u say these three things I mentioned did not lead to the recession we are facing, that's inaccurate. The question we need to ask ourselves in the first place is what is recession??

Recession is simply a temporary decline n economic activity like trade and industrial activities. Dnt mind all those gargons used by economist, the main reason for this is lack of money in the system. This brings me to my next question, what could be the likely cause(s) of this

1) a country that imports more than it exports...meaning money is always going out and none comes in, PDP as a party should be blamed for this for not diversifying the economy, for 16years they ruled, I think it would be absurd to blame this present govt for this.

2)Corruption and impunity: a country that loots even the little income that comes into the country, we all know that stolen money most times is lodge outside d country nd these looters would prefer to invest this money outside than inside for d fear of been caught, we also have politicians owing d govt billions of naira n taxes n refuse to pay n they become senators n govs to avoid paying govt these taxes, least I forget the govt came to bail them when the banks were on their neck.

Atleast u agree with the saving part, as a cause of recession so I won't go der anymore.

But with all these that I have said I hope u can figure out the correlation......when u keep importing, importing, what happens when u no longer have the forex to support these importations, what happens??

However, that is not to exempt buhari from all this, but blaming it on him 80%. That is a distortion of the truth. You do have ur own opinion doh, this is mine.

Buhari will win the North and SW again in 2019 with or without Tinubu; because from antecedents the majority in that region vote based on performance not emotional sentiments, which PMB will surely deliver.

It is the height of naivety and a display of the absence of political foresight to undermine the ability of a man like Tinubu to influence the sentiment of million of pple in SW Nig. As much as I dislike the person of the Jagaban if this relegation trend continues it ll be recorded in our political history as the most catastrophic mistake by Buhari.
As much as I'm a fan of Buhari ur exaggeration of his popularity amongst Southerners is quite clear. Majority of Southerners er very suspicious of Buhari and that was why he failed repeatedly to win southern votes in his previous 3 outings. It took a lot of colaboative efforts, polishinG and some degree of propaganda to get SW votes for Buhari.
In addition the recession and economic woes currently bedevilling the country is still biting fiercely and its not certain whether oil price will rebouce to its former level nor is there any guarantee Buhari's effort to diversify the economy will start yielding results by 2019.
Do not exaggerate the tolerance oF Nigerians.

A lot of permutations have been making the rounds lately on the potential of PMB's re-election but most, i daresay all, have missed the mark.

PMB will be re-elected based on PERFORMANCE.

Only the shallow/gullible/bigoted can be deceived that PMB is not presently putting in sincere and great efforts to pull Nigeria out of this recession that we were led into by PDP's 16 years of looting, mismanagement, misgovernance and failure to diversify. The machinations of voodoo economics, reckless fiscal policies and shocking pillage of the public treasury the country, were the order of the day during past PDP administrations, are all well known. Months back, the immediate-past finance minister and coordinating minister of the economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, confessed to what she described as the “zero political will to save” under the immediate-past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Buhari will win the North and SW again in 2019 with or without Tinubu; because from antecedents the majority in that region vote based on performance not emotional sentiments, which PMB will surely deliver.

PMB is doing all the right things that will ensure that Nigeria becomes an exporting country once again that is no longer dependent on crude oil alone for revenue. He is doing everything to ensure that the Naira appreciates in value in the nearest future and that Nigeria's power problems will become a thing of the past. PMB has mobilized contractors back to sites all over the country so he is also doing everything to ensure our infrastructural needs are filled. In fact, In line with the critical infrastructural focus of the PMB administration, an unprecedented 30 per cent of 2016 budgetary provision has been committed to capital projects. Since the 2016 National Budget was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari in May, the Ministry of Finance has released more than 400 billion naira for infrastructure spending — more than the total amount spent in 2015.

Contrary to the opposition’s pessimistic narrative on the country’s economic stresses, the strategic measures being put in place by monetary and fiscal authorities have the potential to turn the economy around, such that the economic recession will soon be over. Investment’s share in gross domestic product is at its highest since 2010. Inflation is slowing; manufacturing confidence is rising. According to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) projections, the Nigerian economy would rebound by the fourth quarter of this year (this did not happen btw) , arising from government’s determined efforts to stimulate and reflate the economy.

The latest world economic forecast released just YESTERDAY by the IMF indicates that Nigeria will be fully out of the recession by 2017. This is the IMF not 'Tinubus newspaper' talking.

Take it from me, Nigerians will overwhelmingly re-elect PMB by the time the fruits of our current sweat begin to emerge by the other half of this administrations tenure.

At that point all his haters can do is hate in distant admiration.
