This is a federal road.

I guess this is one of the advantages of being in sync with the centre. Pdp wouldn't have allowed this in a million years.

Having said that, I support the mega city plan.

Even a year notice won't be enough. Will the money and process of acquiring a new house be possible for those that will affected take place within a year.
Things like this should be put into consideration during the preliminary planning stage.
You don't destroy people push and economy just because of development.

Lagos State Government commences demolition of buildings which is said to be built on the road construction project at Abule Egba of Lagos-Abeokuta Express way. The road construction project is said to have rendered several people homeless within a space of two days in which the demolition started. it is said to also have created set back to different organizations around the area such as GT Bank, Wema Bank and others.

One of the Residents in the area told 9jaspotlights reporter that a 7 days vacation notice was given to every affected Residents, Starting from 27th September, 2016, but people were adamant to welcome the warning.

It was also gathered that some affected persons died as a result of this on going action while some were rushed to the hospital due to shocks at the sight of properties being damaged and hoping it was just a dream.

Notice was served since last year during the preliminary stage of the project.

No matter how hard you try to educate mischief makers, they will always find fault in every govt decision.. Property owners will never complained cos they were duly compensated but trust the wailers.
Even evaluation takes more than a year yet gullible mind will tell yu the notice was short

I do not know how Nigerian Government work... But when the people were erecting those building, why didn't anyone stop them? I know those houses where not built overnight.... How can they allow their citizens to pass through all the stress of watching their properties destroyed.....

This is enough for someone to develop stroke....

In your logic, 24 hours power is good, but government shouldn't do it because it would put generator and inverter sellers out of business.

Mr neemrod, I don't think you've ever passed that road and see how traffic is there. I understand your sympathy towards the affected but I want you to understand that what government is doing is the best solution. Imagine you pass there and see how delapedated and depleted that road is, you will fault the government for doing little or nothing to repair a federal road. And according to my calculations, that road is far busy than the widely known Lagos Ibadan express road. So please comment the govt for doing something right out of 100 of wrongs.

I stand to be corrected

.

I support your point broh. Tho I don't stay in lagos but I'm sure it can't be 7days notice. I witnessed somethin like this Jan this year. The Gov wanted to rehab. this road, maily they wanna expand it cuz the carryin capacity of the road is lessa compare to the crowd that's going thru it everyday. its a federal road. Now they came this year Jan and done all the measurement. They told those that gon be affected too. Could you blv non of them has done anythin yett. They all still there. Now Gov will arrive back tomao and re-give 7days to pack off, they'll all be screaming. After the prior notice, many months ago.

7 days notice ? how would you be able to mobilise for money, then look for a new place and get it ready, and move your things down to the new place all within 7 days ? he who supports evil done to others must surely receive evil. Just know it.

Haaa!! Its really sad to see these buildings being demolished, the WEMA bank has being there since my primary school days. Trying to imagine all the houses and all on that road being demolished, I grew up in this area the road sure needs expansion 'cos the traffic on that road is something else but I feel pity to all those affected. No amount of compensation can do.

It has been proven by pschologist that whoever comes out on the offence to say something bad about his fellow man is the most insecure person.

By saying this trash now, you just proved that you have a warped mind. Deplorable fellow
