While I am not a legal practitioner and keep won't even attempt to quote the law and sturvs like that, I think certain questions need to be asked as regards the Governor Wike, DSS and the attempted arrest (or as it is called abduction) of judges. While the media will always be the media and want to make sales hence be sensational, I think some questions have to be asked when we all calm down to think about it.

1. Is it illegal to arrest a sitting judge?

2. Is it illegal to arrest at night?

3. Is it illegal for the DSS to arrest?

Now if you answer these questions, please help me answer this one.

4. Is it illegal for the DSS to arrest a sitting judge at night?

After you have answered the first four questions, please let me throw this in

5. Is it illegal to obstruct justice by preventing security agencies from carrying out an arrest?

First and foremost, the DSS does not have the power to arrest based on charges of corruption; it is the job of the EFCC.
Secondly, whenever a Judge is accused of corruption, for the sake of the seperation of powers it is the duty of the NJC to investigate and if found erring sanction them as it was recently done.
From what we have seen which is a first in our nations democracy, this is a tactics to cripple judges not on the side of the ruling party and this is bad for democracy.
