The fundamental principles of divine activity are changeless, but the outward shape of that activity alters all the changing needs of Gods people.
We are meant to reflect on the past with gratitude and stimulated faith but not to allow it stereotype our expectations from God.
God is doing a new thing.
To be able to see what God is doing, we need to follow the instructions of these verses.
1. CHANGE YOUR FOCUS - QUIT LOOKING BEHIND AND START LOOKING AHEAD.
Isaiah 43:18
"forget the former things; do not dwell in the past. See, I am doing a new thing".
Its good to remember the good things but don't camp there. Its time to move on.
You can't depend on past victories to sustain you presently.
2. DON'T ALLOW YOUR PAST FAILURES TO POSSESS YOU.... DON'T DWELL IN THE PAST.
The children of Israel had failed God miserably. Every time He blessed them with good things, they returned to Him evil.
°God gave them the temple - they gave Him idol worship.
°God gave them truth - they lived and proclaimed a lie.
°God gave them His commands - they lived like they are suggestions.
°God gave them wealth - they used it to abuse the poor.
°God gave them Himself - they gave nothing rather than rejection.
You can do nothing to correct your past. Just forget and keep moving.
Isaiah 55:7 "let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thought. Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon".
3. YOU CAN'T LIVE ON YESTERDAY'S FAITH.
The children of Israel had experienced great spiritual blessings. From the first Passover to the crossing of the red sea, to the conquering of the land of Canaan and so on.
Each time they are faced with a fresh challenge, they needed a different form of liberation.
You need a new faith to be able to handle today.
4. CLARIFY YOUR FOCUS - DISCOVER WHAT GOD WANTS FOR YOU.
To perceive: To know by seeing; care, recognition, acknowledge, aware of, understand.
What do you see when you view your life? Do you see possibilities or problems?
5. YOU MUST SEE YOUR POSSIBILITIES AS GOD SEES THEM.
Isaiah 43:19 "I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland".

Cool topic bro

And it came to past that NUTASE was the first to comment on the 497th day of the despotic rule of a biased kwarruption fighter who came to power on the facade called change. He was known for arresting kwarrupt feofle who he deemed to be his enemies like judges who denied him the presidency so many times. This tyrant was also known to protect his kwarrupt aids like Generals Dumbazz and Bura who were leaving above their means and had assets there salaries could not justify, but used this same reason to carry out his vendetta on his enemies.
His rule was so harsh and lacked economic direction that the countries currency collapsed and the country went into a recession. Prices skyrocketed snd their was hunger and crime in the land. His brothers took kidnapping to a new level nationwide while he looked away and the people cried out to the Lord in ashes and sackclothes.........

There are differences between Christianity and religion, Many are GOING TO CHURCH but few are GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHICH LEADS TO LIFE. Many are RELIGIOUS but few are RIGHT WITH GOD. Religion is DOING while Christianity is DONE. When Jesus cried on the cross, "it is finished" The work of our salvation was FINISHED, DONE, ACCOMPLISHED and COMPLETED. A religious man may be likened as a man who try to swim from river kaduna to niger by his own strength, he will never make it. But the man who is save by faith is likened to be a man who get on a ship, hoping it will take him to his destination. This man simply rests upon the ship and lets the ship do all the work. THIS ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN RELIGION AND CHRISTIANITY. 1. RELIGION: "Salvation is something I must do. I must somehow earn or gain salvation by the way I live." CHRISTIANITY: "Salvation is something only God can do. Salvation is of the LORD!" (Eph. 2:8-9). 2. RELIGION: Religion is summed up in one word: DO--man trying to DO different things to please God and earn His favor. CHRISTIANITY: Christianity is summed up in one word; DONE--Christ dying on the cross to save sinful man (John 19:30). 3. RELIGION: The religious man is busy "working" (doing good works) in order to be saved. CHRISTIANITY: The saved person is "not working" (Rom. 4:5) but is RESTING upon the finished work of Another. Although he must beware (1 peter 5: 4. RELIGION: RELIGION is man trying to BRING HIMSELF TO GOD (by human effort, good works, ritualism, traditionalism, sacraments, etc.). CHRISTIANITY: CHRISTIANITY is Christ BRINGING US TO GOD on the basis of what He did for us on the cross, NOT by our own effort. (1 Peter 3:18). 5. RELIGION: Man trying to please God in the wrong way (Rom. 8:8--"So then they that are in the FLESH cannot please God" . CHRISTIANITY: Man truly pleasing God in the only way (Hebrews 11:6--"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" . 6. RELIGION: The religious man is seeking to establish his own righteousness by ignoring the way of the righteousness of God (Rom. 10:3). CHRISTIANITY: The saved man is satisfied with the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 5:21). 7.RELIGION: Religion is pictured in Genesis 3 by the fig leaves that Adam and Eve made for themselves--a terrible covering (Gen. 3:7). CHRISTIANITY: Salvation is pictured in Genesis 3 by the coats of skin which God provided by way of the shedding of BLOOD--a perfect covering (Gen. 3:21). 8.RELIGION: CAIN'S RELIGION--"I bring to God the labour of my own hands" (Gen. 4:3). CHRISTIANITY: ABEL'S FAITH--"I bring to God a blood sacrifice. An innocent substitute must die to save me" (Gen. 4:4). Good works done by sinful man can never please a holy God. The greatest good work is GOD'S WORK accomplished by Jesus Christ who offered Himself on the cross as the sinner's Substitute. Thus we are not saved by good works but we are saved unto good works: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13). Are you resting fully in the finished work of Christ? Are you trusting in Jesus Christ, WHO HE IS, WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR YOU and WHAT HE HAS SAID IN HIS WORD? "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else" (Isaiah 45:22).

No wonder when Jesus informed Peter that Satan has asked for him, that he may sieve him as wheat-Jesus ended that prophecy by saying to Peter,"but I have prayed for you, that your FAITH SHOULD NOT FAIL.which is a revelation to us that Faith is our one and only Connection to God.For had Peter's Faith failed, there wouldn't have been a comeback for him. Jesus' prayer was directed at the most vital subject which is Faith.

May that same Word that preserved Peter's Faith preserve our Faith in Him,and also give Faith to those who have no Faith in Him. In Jesus' name I pray-Amen.

There is always two aspects while expecting or receiving anything from God. The aspect of giving and the aspect of receiving. The giving (God's) aspect is ever settled, while the receiving (man's) must also be settled.

@op has done enough justice on man's side of the contract. It is a fundermental principle to (1) be willing and (2) be obedient before the good of the land can come to you.

You MUST always be on the right platform to receive from God either His divine promises or answer to your heart desires.

Thanks

Our freedom is tied to the truth we know.

If we don't KNOW the truth we stay in bondage("My people perish for lack of knowledge).

But if we do KNOW the truth we bask in freedom (And you shall KNOW the truth and the truth shall set you free). Shalom broda!
