5 Things to Know When You Bet In-Play on the Premier League

1. Little and Often is Best

If you stake your entire deposit on an outcome and then it doesn’t happen, you don’t win. That’s the bottom line, and it should convince you that you need to be careful with your bets, whether they’re traditional pre-match wagers, or in-play.

Because of the preponderance of special offers for in-play bets, it’s often tempting to throw a lot of money at something that seems likely to occur. Don’t. It’s far better to take it easy, bet a little, and then if you’ve got money to spare, spread it over a series of possibilities. You never know, you might win even more that way.
2. Don’t Just Listen to Ray Winstone – Listen to Yourself Too

Ray Winstone, the British actor, has been the voice of Bet365‘s very successful commercials for several years. He’s a great person to advertise a product, because he’s so memorable – everyone listens to what he has to say, and he’s doubtless launched a few stakes with his cry of “bet in play, NOW!”

We love Ray, and the ads are great – but we want to tell you not to only listen to the advice in the commercials. Just because a betting company has advertised at half-time the possibility of a 5/1 bet for a certain player to score next, it doesn’t mean that’s the best-value bet you can place. Use your knowledge of the game and of betting, don’t just go by what the TV tells you.
3. Most Preparation Should Happen Before the Match

Premier League managers like Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho spend literally months researching other teams’ intentions, so that they can set up their own team to win the match between the two. They think intensely about what needs to be done to achieve their aim.

Given this fact, do you think you should be allowing random switches in judgement when betting in-play? Of course not. The majority of time and investment should go on bets before the match, because that’s when you’ve got the time to check on all the possible variables affecting the match. If you’re doing this mid-match, you’re not focusing fully on the game.

In-play bets should be the icing on your betting cake, they should not completely replace pre-match bets. Use both kinds of bets together, and let them compliment each other. This way, you’re not putting your eggs in one basket, you’re giving balance and thought to your betting patterns, and you’ll end up with greater profits from your bets.
4. Focus on Changes in the Game

If you’ve made the correct decision to focus your eyes on the screen and the game, brushing up on your facts and stats beforehand instead, this means you’ve got energy to spare watching what’s actually happening. If you’re knowledgeable about Premier League football, you might notice a team take greater possession or a tactical advantage of some kind.

It’s this kind of change in the pattern of the game that merits an in-play bet, because it’s not something you could have predicted pre-match, but it is important to factor in. Football games change so many times in the 90 minutes of play. If you can recognise a change before your fellow bettors, you can get a great price on the in-play bet for a player or team.
5. Have Fun!

This is probably the most important thing about in-play betting on the Premier League, or any other sporting tournament. If you’re taking it totally seriously, and staking your future on something happening within a football match, you’re going to be unhappy either way.

Football is a game, and so is in-play betting. It should be something that brings a sense of fun and enjoyment to a sport you already love – so get into it, and enjoy it. Enjoy your in-plays, pick the odds that you think will bring you success, and good luck!

Iheanacho, Iwobi, Musa Mohammed hit Eagles camp

English Premier League stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi as well as Turkey-based defender Musa Mohammed are the first set of players to hit the Eagles training camp for Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

Arsenal forward Iwobi has proved to be one of the early birds at the Eagles camp and he is often accompanied to Nigeria by his father, Chuka.

The training camp in Abuja officially opened today and the squad are expected to depart for match venue Uyo on Thursday.

It will be the same day Algeria will land in Uyo on board a chartered flight.

Officials disclose that the bulk of the 23-man squad will be in camp today for training to begin Tuesday morning.

They are expected to train twice daily.

Nigeria are top of their qualifying table after they beat hosts Zambia 2-1 in Ndola last month and Algeria were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Cameroon.

Can The Oyinbo Connection Withstand The Algerian Onslaught?

Don’t be deceived by their looks

They are tough uncompromising defenders

Leon Balogun and Troost Ekong (The Oyinbo Connection) have surmounted all odds and have amidst stiff competition become the Super Eagles preferred central defence pairing

Paired together against Mali in a friendly and against Tanzania in a dead rubber AFCON Qualifier they have so far proved Impregnable when together

Oghenekaro Etebo the Algerian bomber arrives Eagles Caamp:

Portugal-based duo of Dele Alampasu and Oghenekaro Etebo have both arrived at the Super Eagles Abuja camp for Saturday’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

Their arrivals bring the number of Eagles players currently in camp to 22, and the only player yet to hit camp is Standard Liege’s Elderson Echiejile who is expected to join his team-mates today.

“Goalkeeper Dele Alampasu and striker Etebo Oghenekaro have arrived safely in camp from Portugal. Only one player now being expected,” the handle said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the players and the coaching crew will depart Abuja for Uyo on Wednesday.

Algeria are under pressure, says Nabil Bentaleb:

Nabil Bentaleb has said that Algeria are under pressure to deliver when they face Nigeria in their second 2018 World Cup Qualifying match in Uyo on Saturday.

The Greens performed below expectation when they drew Cameroon at home in their opening fixture, and they will have to win against Group B leaders Nigeria in Uyo to strengthen their bid for a place in Russia.

“I must say that we are a bit under pressure because we need a good result against Nigeria. But I'm optimistic because Algeria always give good output in difficult times,” Bentaleb told Le Buteur.

The on-loan Schalke 04, who has found a new lease of life in Germany after a disappointing campaign with Tottenham, downplayed the effect sacking and hiring a new coach within a qualifying series could have. With Georges Leekens replacing Milosec Rajevac after the opening fixture.

“Risky? No. It remains the choice of the president of the federation. Now, if the old coach did not have the means to drive the country far in this competition, then this is definitely a good decision.”

Iheanacho set to lead Eagles attack, Victor Moses, Etebo good to start

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho looks set to lead Nigeria’s charge for goals against Algeria in a decisive World Cup qualifier Saturday with Victor Moses and Oghenekaro Etebo good to also start.

The 20-year-old Iheanacho has scored in the team’s last four matches and in Wednesday’s morning training he led attack while Watford ace Odion Ighalo, back in the squad after he missed last month’s game in Zambia, featured for the second team.

Ighalo has failed to deliver in a green-white-green shirt of Nigeria and he is currently struggling to score goals in his second season in the Premier League.

The daring Oghenekaro Etebo has walked into the first team and could well also start on Saturday to play behind Iheanacho in coach Gernot Rohr’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

He will provide the shooting prowess and killer instincts in front of goal that Rohr has demanded of his front men.

It is also looking likely that Leicester City star Ahmed Musa will start from the bench for the second straight Eagles game as on-form Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi from Arsenal will run the flanks.

Re: Nigeria Vs Algeria 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 3 - 1 (Full Time) by Icon79(m): 4:33pm On Nov 09, 2016
Yup. I expect both Iheanacho and Etebo to start. This is going to be my selection (assuming Rohr decides to with the 4-2-3-1 formation, as predicted):

1. Dele Alampasu
2. Shehu Abdullahi 3.Elderson Chiejiele 5. Leon Balogun 6. William Troost-Ekong
4. Winfred Ndidi (or Eddy Onazi b/c of experience) 10. Mikel Obi
7.Victor Moses 8. Oghenekaro Etebo 11. Alex Iwobi
9. Kelechi Iheanacho

Let's go, Super Eagles. Algeria must fall!

’Rohr's 5 big surprises against Algerias :

While nothing can be confirmed yet as they still have two days of training before the team selection is done, there are however a few things that can be discerned from the how team has prepared between Tuesday and Wednesday.

lets take a look at FIVE things that could play out on game day that could take the fans, and even the Algerians by surprise -

1. ALAMPASU COULD BE IN GOAL

While this cannot be confirmed yet, but it does seem the 19-year-old will get his seniot international debut against the Algerians, if what has been seen from their training sessions are anything to go by.

Daniel Akpeyi is the most experienced goalkeeper in the fold and is the popular choice to play on Saturday, but selection patterns have so far suggested Alampasu might be the one selected.

2. ETEBO COULD START

The Feirense of Portugal attacker only arrived on Tuesday afternoon and had only his second training session with the team on Wednesday morning, but it does look like he will start on Saturday.

His first cap for the Super Eagles came in March against Egypt in Kaduna in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, and he started and scored Nigeria’s goal in the 1-1 draw. He could be in line for another start on Saturday.

3. AHMED MUSA ON THE BENCH AGAIN

Vice-Captain Ahmed Musa will most likely start this game from the bench, if the emerging pattern were to be followed.

The Leicester City winger appears to have lost his place to Alex Iwobi and the returning Victor Moses, and just like it was in Ndola last month against Zambia, he is most likely to start from the bench again in Uyo.

4. IHEANACHO AS CENTRE-FORWARD, IGHALO AND IDEYE ON THE BENCH

It appears the Manchester City youngster will start as the centre-forward ahead of the more experienced Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye.

Both Ighalo and Ideye have not been firing for the Super Eagles, while Iheanacho has scored twice in his last two games for the team and it does seem that Gernot Rohr will hand him a starting position as Nigeria’s number 9 on Saturday.

5. KENNETH OMERUO AT LEFT BACK

Omeruo, 23, played right back for the most part during his loan spell at Ado Den Haag in Holland, and one wouldn’t have been surprised to see him deployed to that position on Saturday, but left back?

Well, if the indications are anything to go by, he will play there against the Algerians.

Elderson Echiejile only joined the team on Tuesday evening and didn’t train until Wednesday morning, while Kingsley Madu doesn’t look like he enjoys Rohr’s confidence at the moment, so when the game kicks off, do not be surprised to see Omeruo at left back.

Algeria suffer another injury blow after Napoli ace Ghoulam opts out :

Napoli and Algeria defender Faouzi Ghoulam has been ruled out of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier in Nigeria after he suffered a groin injury.

Twenty-five-year-old left back Ghoulam has been an injury concern and now it has been announced he is out of the clash in Uyo and will not be on the flight to Nigeria on Thursday.

Ghoulam’s withdrawal has made it increasingly difficult for coach Georges Leekens to line up a formidable after three top players were also lost to injuries earlier this week.

Midfielders Rachid Ghezzal and Ryad Boudebouz as well as striker Hilal Soudani opted out of the World Cup qualifier in Nigeria on account of injury.

Ghezzal and Boudebouz were examined by Algeria team doctors before they were excused from the training camp, while Dynamo Zagreb striker Soudani did not even fly down to Algiers.

They have since been replaced by Baghdad Bounedjah, Yassine Benzia and Ismael Bennacer.
