The Hausa Service of the BBC is defying presssure from the Presidency and National Assembly trying to stop it from airing the controversial interview the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, granted it.

A source within the Abuja Bureau of the BBC told Daily Trust that there was a letter from the Presidency asking the Hausa service of the BBC not to air the interview.

The Speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara, according to the source, also tried to informally dissuade the BBC from airing the interview.

A son of Buhari's powerful nephew, Mamman Daura, is also said to have called to get the BBC not to use the interview.

In the interview Aisha Buhari had said those who worked for the president have been abandoned for those who don't even have voters card.

She also expressed fear of rebellion from the fifteen million people who voted her husband.

However, the source told Daily Trust, the BBC wouldn't backdown on its promise to air the interview as an independent media organisation.

The source said the only condition that can make the service not air the interview is for the interviewee, Aisha Buhari, to decide against it. Even in that case her voice recanting what she had said in the interview would be aired.

Therefore, a part of the interview will be aired in the service's morning broadcast tomorrow. It will be aired in full on its programme, 'Gane Mini Hanya', on Saturday.

Aisha is no longer understanding the change,
the BBC Hausa service is no longer understanding the change,
Even Aso rock is no longer understanding the change.
Aisha has warned, the wrath of 15million people who do not understand the change is imminent.

Mr president should be properly guided, you have spoken tough now you must walk the talk.

Good, she has turn a new leaf

BBC should also ask her about the script "Chibok Girl" cos the actors seems to be sleeping in front of camera.

Getting some 21 female Almajiris to act as released chibok girls not adding up aswear, no school girl was kidnapped in the first place.

How many brt buses will convey 270+ girls without anybody seeing them?

60girls x 4 buses =240

Good to hear
Though I doubt if there was any seeious intention to suppress the interview.
The president needs every avenue to keep him on his toes at all time.
Though I see more of a first lady in Zahra than Aisha.
Once again that's good news.

They don't have to release the interview

No one would listen to the interview because Nigerians can't understand what she says, her use of English is terrible
Buhari's use of English is the worst, both of them sounds like a pregnant dog

I am not understanding why someone will grant an interview and not want it aired?
Was it your microphone that was used or your recording device or is it your station?
As you have said it, we will hear it! #ExamineYourDiscretions

I have a strong feeling that they will end up bowing to the pressure and offers.
But one thing am sure of is that if they air it eventually,it would be edited to knock out those 'controversial' chats that may be damning to the president. At the end it will be a harmless less intriguing interview

The press is blowing this comment out of proportion, Buhari's nepotism has been confirmed by his 'wife'. This is what everybody has been saying, is it because the 'first lady' said it. Buhari should do swifly RESIGN.
