The human body is basically composed of water and a specific quantity needs to be consumed for survival. Research states that 6-8 glasses of water should be taken daily but guess what? You and I may not be living up to this standard. Basically, males should take 3 liters (12 cups) of water every day while females need to consume 2.2 liters (9 cups) daily for ideal hydration. Our failure to consume the appropriate amount of water can result to mild dehydration with many manifestations such as listed below:

1. DARK YELLOW URINATION:
This is principal sign that you are not drinking enough water. Normally, the urine has a yellow-amber color but when an individual water intake is inadequate, the kidneys reciprocate by releasing an "increased concentration of Waste product into the urine including dead cells, toxic materials, amino acids and different other products" that should be expelled from the body", bringing about a darker urine. However, certain drugs, vitamins, blackberries and spicy foods can cause urine discoloration. Thus when you observe a transitory change of your urine color, check whether you have eaten possibly something that could have altered it. Next, increase your water consumption but if the color persist for prolonged time, it could be an indication of a serious ailment such as Gallstones and hepatitis.
2. CONSTIPATION:
Mild dehydration is among the most well-known causes of constipation. when we consume less water, our body compensate it by absorbing water from other body parts including the colon resulting to difficulty in the passage of stools.
To arrest constipation, ensure that you drink sufficient quantity of water in addition to consumption of food rich in fibers such as fruits and vegetables.
3. DRY SKIN AND WRINKLES:
Most ladies depend on costly creams and moisturizers to keep their body delicate and smooth and fight wrinkles. The most natural and ideal remedy of fighting dry skin is to improve on your water consumption. Dehydration can result to sensitive and irritated skin and in most extreme cases it can flake and crack.
4. WEIGHT GAIN:
The body is so naturally built that it doesn't know the distinction between thirst and hunger. The hypothalamus, the part of the brain that regulate thirst and hunger, sometimes becomes confused causing pangs of hunger in response to thirst. Thus, going after food rather than a glass of water prompts excess calories and weight gain. In case you are desire to lose weight, ensure you are drink adequate quantity of water.
When you feel hungry, get a glass of water before going for a snack or food and wait for 10-15 minutes to check whether the hunger has declined or if it is still there. if the hunger is still persist, then it's time for you to eat.
5. HEADACHE:
When we don't drink enough water, Our body try to reabsorb water from tissues to compensate for the absence of water intake. Our brain tissue is also affected and tends to pull away from the skull. Consequently pain receptors are stimulated which brings about headache. In the same vein, when you don't consume enough water, the blood volume or Extracellular fluid (ECF) level drops, diminishing the quantity of oxygen being conveyed to the brain. The blood vessels subsequently dilate resulting to inflammation which intensifies the headache. Therefore, next time you got a headache, reach out for a glass of water.
6. FATIGUE:
When one is dehydrated, the blood volume diminishes causing the heart extra work to pump blood and deliver Oxygen and Nutrients round the body. When feeling tired, skip that coffee which even heightens the dehydration and go for a glass of water. Water can never be substituted for Soda, coffee, sports drink or tea.
7. JOINT PAIN:
Water is a lubricant to the joints as it constitute the synovial fluid which permits two bones to slide each other. At the point when the body doesn't get enough water, the cartilage cells becomes damaged owing to nutrient deficiency. If you experience Joint pain, be mindful of your water consumption and increase it when necessary.
Water is life! Little wonder why one can stay weeks without food but only a few days without water. Therefore for your optimum health, ensure drinking adequate quantity of water because this little changes can make a big difference in your LIFE!
