I feel your pain. They should be scrapped if they are not voted in by a credible body that represent their communities. If they need a job, they should run for the LGA that has limits not life terms.
Or like you pointed out, they should not have any tap water, no light in their yards, no modern gas cookers, no refrigerators, matter of fact no electricity, they shouldn't fly planes, use cars, motorcycles etc. Any technology before the oyinbos arrived, they shouldn't have. That will really make them genuine, and bring tourism. They should not have no bank account too.
Is sad that nigeria loves the idea of oppression and empty acknowledgements. They want too much respect just by presence. Traditional chiefs in Nigeria are way too many. if everyone of them claims legitimacy, then they all have to go because we can't dispute that. The one grey are tho, is the fact that across africa, traditional chiefs sold slaves and resources to invading forces and even before that to manaic middle east. We should have a system whereby everyone is told that they are chiefs and kings and for that reason two days in a year should be dedicated for traditional heritage day(not independence day) but some kind of event that will cherrish our traditions with cultural lessons, foods, etc just like trade fair stuff but in every state and free for everyone without exhaulting anyone. There should be more emphasis on the arts and culture and not about the supposedly scrapped chiefs/thiefs (awoof people).
This should help in creating a way of keeping history without tribalising it because it will be going on in all states and even foreigners will love to be in any part of Nigeria during that period because the celebration will surpass any kind we have now. Some LGAs will have less exciting stuff but can always show off next year, and other intelligent ways of making them successful can be implemented; Our school pupils in elementary, secondary, technical, and even universities will love this because a class can pick different areas every school year to learn about any culture they want. The rest of africa can feel the bubbling and come like tourist to experience for themselves. Security will be on point nationwide for that event.
Nigeria needs to grow up for real. she seems so childish while others are manning up. We also while scrapping that need to scrapp houseboys and girls oppression. If you get anyone under the age of 20, You should treat them as your kids not house boy or house girl. If you must call them that, then you need to feed them, pay them monthly, and provide conducive/ humanly sleeping area for them. They should be entitled to education when the government does free education programme for primary and secondary schools. There should be laws to also protect families that agree to participate in such programmes from mean little kids trying to strangle or crumble families with loopholes in the law.
Nigeria will go nowhere but higher if we advance our equality mentality. That I can bet on.

Pigs are far more intelligent than horses, and therefore better suited to meet the exacting standards expected by Nigerian riders.
