Its very unusual to find a dead celebrity who still earns heavily long after they are dead. Only few famous people who are now late have achieved such rare feat. One of such celebrities is the late King of Pop; Michael Jackson whose death on June 25, 2009 after an amazing career which spanned over Four decades shocked the entire world. The late singer according to Forbes now tops the list of highest-earning entertainers who are living or dead.

The late music icon made his professional debut in 1964 with his elder brothers as a member of the Jackson 5. He went solo in 1971. His music singles from his 1982 album which included “Beat it”, “Billie Jean”, and “Thriller” made him a global figure around the world. The videos were responsible for bringing MTV to fame.

In 1985, Jackson originally bought a music publishing catalog which included most of The Beatles’ signature tunes. for $47.5 million and raised another $115 million when Sony became a partner with him. Michael Jackson still got bulk of his money. Michael Jackson according to Forbes, still earns income from his Mijac Music publishing catalogue, which contain copyrights of some of his own hit songs and several of his favorite songs by numerous artists.

The long time investment has reaped dividends for his estate and made Michael Jackson the largest-earning dead celebrity for 2016, according to the annual list published by Forbes.

The remaining portion of that catalog assigned to Jackson was sold in March to Sony for $750 million while his pretax payday for the 2016 was $825 million becoming the largest annual earning mark for any celebrity dead or alive, according to the publication.

The second on the Top 10 list is the Peanuts creator Charles Schultz with $48 million. His estate’s earnings were powered by the release of “The Peanuts Movie” last year. Arnold Palmer a famous golfer came third with $40 million, having passed away last month, he is followed by Elvis Presley ($27 million) and Prince ($25 million).

Others in the top 10 includes Bob Marley ($21 million), Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel ($20 million), John Lennon ($12 million), Albert Einstein ($11 million) and Bettie Page ($11 million). Among the ten of them, Five of them were music singers.
