How To Know If Your 4G LTE Phone Supports Any Of The Network by Highflyer3(m): 7:03am On Oct 26, 2016
So far 4GLTE supports three major networks in Nigeria which include, GLO, Etisalat and MTN. Other networks include Smile, Spectranet and Ntel.

Here is what you should know before you rush into subscribing to 4G plans.

Below is the list of Bands that each network provider supports:

So far 4G Smartphones in Nigeria use Band 3,4,7, 8, 20 or 28.

MTN 4G LTE , supports band 20 (800MHz) and Band 7 (2600MHz)

Glo 4G LTE, supports band 28 (700MHz)

Etisalat 4G LTE, supports band 3 (1800MHz)

NTEL 4G LTE, supports band 8 (900MHz) and Band 3 (1800MHz)

Spectranet and Swift, supports band 40 (2300mhz)

Smile, supports band 20 (800mhz).

How to check which Band your device Supports?

Download MTK Engineering mode on Play store or Shortcut Master(Lite)

-Click the settings
- then click Band mode
- Select SIM 1

You will see a list of Band mode of GSM/LTE

Check the ones ticked on LTE category.

If you cannot tick Band 20 or 7 box, then don't bother subscribing to MTN 4G plans.

If you cannot tick Band 3 box, Etisalat 4G plan cannot work on your device.

If you cannot tick Band 28, then Glo 4G plan is useless to your device.

If you cannot tick Band 3 or 8, say Bye bye to NTEL 4G plan.

Good luck!
