George Amoo, 20, was arrested by some residents of Ekuase, an adjoining community of Bakaekyir in Ghana with a laptop people claimed he stole from the neighborhood last Tuesday. The residents pounced on him, severely beating him, leading to his admissionat the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital for treatment. Here is his photo.

Meanwhile, the police have commenced investigation into the case. Ghana newspapers say the residents of Ekuase are not taking the matter lightly, as they have been complaining of an upsurge in robbery incidents in recent times. George is lucky to be alive, since it was the Assembly member for the Area, Ishmael Bravo, who rushed to the scene and prevented him from being murdered.

Though he is still receiving treatment, George will learn his lessons and desist from his criminal behavior. He would learn that crime doesn’t pay, as well as desist from going to Ekwase Community, where he stands the risk of being killed for his illegal activities.
