I tried making an online school fees payment of 14,400 for someone via college pay on the 5th of October. The payment slip came back as failed transaction (as a downloadable PDF) but immediately my account was already debited of that stated amount. I was shocked.

In order not to make a double payment, I had to go to the bank (First Bank) the next day and explained the issue to one of their agents there. He told me he'd lodge a complain for the transaction, and I should go ahead with another payment, which I did.

Up till this day they haven't resolved the transaction. I've gone back to meet the bank customer care agent and he keeps saying I should exercise patience. Its been 26days and counting, and nothing has been done.

I'm already becoming skeptical as to why resolving this issue is taking so long. Does resolving a take so long like this? I'm very worried.

I'd like to know if there's actually a time limit/frame where failed transactions would be resolved. Help me out on this.

I used a verve card, and I made a complaints the next day and the issue was logged. I've even called their customer care agent and I was told the transaction is still being resolved.
