You shameless liar.

Bring a quote (no links, put it up right here). Bring a quote from a pagan religious document
confirming all you wrote here.

No secondhand book reviews.

No Jack Chick tracts.

No clever lines from Dawkins.

Bring a quote.

When I say 'the Catholic Church teaches' I can give quotes (page, chapter and verse)

from the Bible or from Church Dogma. Which people can Google/download and verify.

You bring a quote. From a recognized pagan religious book of antiquity.

Which we can Google/download. And verify.

Let's start there.

Cur, blasphemer, and miserable clown.

oga nothing like that ever existed, he's just bamboozling the ignorant with lies. I have already bursted 3 of those lies( Dionysus, Odysseus and Heracles) I know the Greek mythology like the back of my hand.

All the stories I posted, all predate christianity. If you don't know what predate means, it means to come before something. So if any story is fake, it's the one that copied stories that existed before it, not the other way round.

Christianity borrowed and integrated stories from these traditions into it's own. It's all cutting and pasting. These traditions existed years before Jesus supposedly was born.

Those you posted has no dates attached so how dare you come here and spew bigotry? The ones you dated were in AD's how can that predate christ?

That is true, i am suprised to hear people talk about non alcoholic wine

Kindly do not quote me without going through this thread and takong advantage of the greek/hebrew guide I gave the link which offered a Greek/Hebrew guide to the original words interpreted as WINE in the Bible and what kind of WINE those words meant.

The argument here is not about if in those days wine was alcoholic the argument is if the one Jesus turned from water was alcoholic and the Greek translation clearly says it wad NOT.

Read and understand before you comment.

Besides the illustration using the old cloth and new patch or new wine in old wineskins was not referring to the intake of wine but wad referring to the embodiment of the Holy Spirit in an unclean old sinful vessel (man). NEW FOR NEW and not NEW FOR OLD thereby destroying the vessel (man).
I gues d one used 4 d last supper is also non alcoholic abi?

SHALOM!

GrizzlyBear:
Most christians usually substantiate the validity of the bible and their believe in God, by emphasizing the coming of Jesus. They believe that Jesus was the son of god, who came to earth through the womb of a virgin as was prophesied, was born in a stable, born to a carpenter, began his career by fasting for 40 days in the wilderness, was crucified, died and resurrected on the third day, and all the other descriptions in the bible that testify to the story of Jesus, and this forms the basis of their belief, doctrines and how they perceive the world around them.

If you want to talk about "MOST CHRISTIANS" you have to mean the ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH- which is not a Christian Organization, but a Frankenst Monster of many Pagan Beliefs, with the intention of unifying those peoples.

[See: THE TWO BABLYLONS: or Papal Worship proven to be the Worship of Nimrod and hius wife, by Reverend Alexander Hislop.]

If this is actually true and if everything written about Jesus is true, why then are there accounts of other deities pre-dating christianity, that seem to have stories that are almost an exact replica of the story of Jesus

SPIRITUAL POWERS MANIFEST ON SPECIFIC WAYS, so that Spiritual people with similar Powers have coincidental life experiences- many of which cannot be planned.

For example, the Anthropologist, Dr. CARLOS CASTANEDA, who became a Nagual, cited the case of a pair of apprentices- MARIA (FATTY) ELENA, and NESTOR- with him, who came across a Forbidden Power Object (charm) that belonged to a poeerful Sorcerer who had died centuries ago.

Against their teachers' advice, they decided to keep it, and try to access its powers.

Before this happened, there were various signs and wonders that happened to them, proving that this innocuous object- a stone with a finger-hole in it- was an authentic Power-Object. The same beam of a house collapsed on both of them, and they were both bitten by the same dog.

When the power of the charm began to manifest, she SAW the circumstances of the death of that sorcerer; he was taken out by a note powerful sorcerer, but finished off by Pygmies, who ATE HIM ALIVE, to take his remaining Power.

He died in pain and fear, and Maria Elena SAW the assailants, and FELT how the Sorcerer had died, AS THOUGH IT WERE HAPPENING TO HER.

This replayed and replayed and replayed- and she could not turn it off.

Finally, unable to sleep, she had to confess to their teachers what she had done, and they made her return the object to where she had found it.

Their teacher explained, thst at this intermediate point in her training, she had lost her FIRST ATTENTION shields- which protect untrained people from Spiritual Influences. Therefore, she was susceptible to unwanted Perceptions and Influences.

The remedy was that she had to be buried in an "Earth Coffin" for TEN DAYS- because "the EARTH can Heal ANYTHING." She had to EAT, DRINK, PEE, and POOP in that coffin.

[See: THE SECOND RING OF POWER, by Carlos Castaneda.]

Foolish people want "irrefutable proof" of the Spiritual Realm.

That is VERY EASYILY ARRANGED.

? If there are fictional and supposedly true stories that predate christianity, that bear striking resemblance to the Jesus story, then does that mean that the writers of the bible plagiarized these stories from ancient traditions that existed before them? If this is true, doesn't it confute the whole new testament's doctrines?

First of all, if you knew what you were talking about, you would would tell us the stories you heard by hearsay.

You have no proof any of them were real.

The hungry and jobless Oyinbos are always making up shit to sell books.

For instance, a virally-popular book claimed that "JESUS" was plagiuarized from HAWK-GOD HORUS, who was born of a virgin, visited at his birth by three kings, on December 25th, performed miracles, had twelve disciples, died and was resurrected the third day.

Anyone who knows anything about Egyptian Mythology knows that Horus was not born of any virgin, but was fathered by the god OSIRIS, by his WIFE, ISIS.

YAHSHUA never claimed to be born of a virgin.

The Bible never says that he was visited at his birth by any number of kings.

That shepherds were tending their flocks in the fields at the time proves that the birth could never have happened in DECEMBER.

ALL gods perform "MIRACLES," (*DUH!*) Yahshua is the only one who passed on his Powers to everyone believing on him.

None of these Horus' Twelve Disciples have names.

The Miracles are not specified.

[See: THE CHRIST CONSPIRACY: THE GREATEST STORY EVER SOLD, by D.M. Murdock, aka. "ARCHYRA S."]

The Oyinbos KNOW about those LIES- and surely LAUGH when people believe in them.

And this isn't an empty claim, below are few of these shocking similarities.

Of course it is an "EMPTY CLAIM," because you failed to cite a SINGLE "plagiarism," nor any REFERENCE for your information.

Consistent with LYING.

[quote author=GrizzlyBear post=50698412]10. Buddha

Both Buddah and Jesus went to their temples at the age of twelve, where they are said to have astonished all with their wisdom.

When an Atheist just pulls a story out of his ass, and presents it as a fact, nobody bats an eye.

Let a CHRISTIAN get a fact wrong- hah! INSTANT CRUCIFIXION- STOP: HAMMER-TIME!

. LUKE 2:41-52.

41. Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the Feast of The Passover.
42. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the Feast.
43. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned,
the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey;
and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
46. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the Temple,
sitting in the midst of the Doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
48. And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
"Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing."
49. And he said unto them,
"How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's Business?"
50. And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
51. And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them:
but his mother kept all these Sayings in her heart.
52. And Jesus increased in Wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and Man.

YAHSHUA DID NOT JUST GO TO THE TEMPLE AT AGE TWELVE: HE'D BEEN THERE EVERY YEAR.

At age thirteen, Hebrew Children do their BAR MITZVAH- so the Rabbis should have wanted to ask him some questions- then found he was a prodigy.

My understanding of the BUDDHA is that he was a Royal Prince, so the Temple was probably like, just down the street.

There was nothing special about his going to the temple, but as for stunning the wise men?

My understanding of the Buddha legend is that he lived a totally sheltered life, and had never seen sickness, suffering, old age, nor death. Then, one day, he decided to step outside the palace, and he saw all of those things, and was profoundly shocked.

He sat under a BODHI TREE, and vowed not to move from that spot, until he achieved Enlightenment. Which he did, becoming the BUDDHA.

I do not remember where I heard that from.

But it was taken as a given.

Both supposedly fasted in solitude for a long time: Buddha for forty–seven days and Jesus for forty. Both wandered to a fig tree at the conclusion of their fasts.

I have no idea what Buddha did after his Fast, but what you said about my Lord YAHSHUA going to a Fig Tree after he finished Fasting is complete BULLSHIT. There is no such reference in The Bible.

I just looked up BUDDHA in my DICTIONARY OF ASIAN PHILOSOPHIES, by St. Elno Nauman Junior, and it talks about the events leading up to his fast- including Ascetic Experiments, where he ate one grain of rice per day. Hrbwas 29 when he started those shananigans.

THE BODHI TREE that Buddha meditated underI S A TYPE OF FIG TREE.

So your information is FALSE.

Hitherto, he had been completely ignorant of old age, sickness, and death: it is IMPOSSIBLE that he could have had any impressive insights before this time.

Both were about the same age when they began their public ministry:

YAHSHUA was channeling the life of JOSEPH, who was thirty, when he was made Prime Minister of Egypt.

“When he [Buddha] went again to the garden he saw a monk who was calm, tranquil, self–possessed, serene, and dignified. The prince, determined to become such a monk, was led to make the great renunciation. At the time he was twenty–nine years of age…

It is rude not to cite the sources of references.

“Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age.” (Luke 3:23).

Well, so what?

Both were tempted by the “devil” at the beginning of their ministry:

EVERYBODY gets tempted by The Devil when they attempt ENLIGHTENMENT.

It is inevitable.

To Buddha, he said: “Go not forth to adopt a religious life but return to your kingdom, and in seven days you shall become emperor of the world, riding over the four continents.”

This quote reminds me of THE GOSPEL OF BARNABAS.

I have NEVER, EVER heard that The Devil, MARA, offered Buddha Emperorship of the World.

IT MAKES NO SENSE- EXCEPT TO PRETEND A CONNECTION TO YAHSHUA.

GAUTAMA SIDDHARTHA WAS ALREADY A PRINCE.

He had THREE PALACES, had 40,000 dancing girls, and had chosen his wife out of 500 candidates.

In his bid for Enlightenment, he tried eating seeds and grass, finally eating one grain of rice per day.

He ate ONLY DUNG at one point.

When Mara started his Temptations, he opened with:

(1) THREE DANCING GODDESSES.

(2) STORMS, LIGHTNING, RAIN, FLANING ROCKS, BOILING MUD.

(3) HIS ARMY OF DEVILS- ALL OF THEM.

At this point, he touched the Earth with his right finger, and THE EARTH replied: "I bear witness!"

Then Buddha achieved the KARMA REVELATION.

He saw the cycle of Death and Rebirth.

(4) THE DEVIL FLED (PSYCH!)

(5) HE FINALLY SUGGESTED THAT BUDDHA "LET GO," AND JUST GO INTO NIRVANA- BECAUSE NO ONRE WOULD LISTEN TO HIM., ANYWAY.

Buddha elected to stay on Earth, a d "help" people- and The Devil left, having planted the ONE DECEPTION he needed.

AT WHAT POINT WOULD IT HAVE MADE SENSE TO HAVE OFFERED BUDDHA EMPERORSHIP OF FOUR CONTINENTS?

In SEVEN DAYS, he could not even ANNOUNCE his coronation on ONE Continent!

This story is therefore an AFTERTHOUGHT.

To Jesus, he said: “All these [kingdoms of the world] I will give you, if you fall down and worship me” (Matthew 4:9).

. MATTHEW 4:1-11.

[1]Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
[2]And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
[3]And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
[4]But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
[5]Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
[6]And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[7]Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
[8]Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
[9]And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
[10]Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
[11]Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him

IT MADE SENSE FIR SATAN TO OFFER YAHSHUA THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD AND THE GLORY OF THEM, BECSUSE HE OWNED THEM- AND THE HaMISHIACH'S JOB WAS TO TAKE THEM BACK FROM HIM, SND FULFIL THE GENESIS CHARTER.

MARA'S OFFERING SUCH TO BUDDHA WOULD BE LIKE OFFERING ANGELINA JOLIE TO THE POPE AS A WIFE.

Buddha answered the “devil”: “Get you away from me.”

BUDDHA had no wherewithal to say that to MARA.

His fight was to STAY IN ONE SPOT, until he had achieved ENLIGHTENMENT.

SATAN'S FIGHT with Yahshua was to get him to BREAK THE LAW OF GOD BY MOSES.

Their situations were NOT COMPARABLE.

Jesus responded: “…begone, Satan!” (Matthew 4:10).

He had a basis for saying so.

Both strove to establish a kingdom of heaven on earth.

Another TOTAL LIE.

What YAHSHUA was doing and what BUDDHA was doing HAVE NO COMPARISON.

According to the Somadeva (a Buddhist holy book), a Buddhist ascetic’s eye once offended him, so he plucked it out and cast it away.

ANYONE WHO KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE BUDDHA KNOWS THAT HE WAS A PEACEFUL PERSON, OPPOSED TO VIOLENCE, SAND WOULD NEVER TAKE WHAT WAS SOMEONE ELSE'S- LET ALONE THEIR EYEBALL!

How can someone else's EYE OFFEND a HOLY MAN?

Dies that make rational sense to YOU, to BELIEVE a whole BUDDHA could DO that to someone?

Jesus said: “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out, and throw it away;.” (Matthew 5:29).

In the ARAMAIC LANGUAGE, which was the language of YAHSHUA and then people he preached to, PLUCK OUT YOUR EYE meant, "STOP COVETING!" CUT OFF YOUR HAND meant, "STOP STEALING." CUT OFF YOUR FOOT" meant, "STOP COMMITTING ADULTERY!" (Footnotes in the LAMSA PESHITTA Bible.)

In King James Version English, "TO OFFEND" did not mean what it does in 20th Century English: it meant: "TO CAUSE TO STUMBLE," "TO BE AN OBSTACLE TO."

The Oyinbos who taught you that garbage KNOW ALL THIS- and are surely laughing up their sleeves that you chopped all their... dung.
