parents nowadays tends to strongly oppose their children choice of a spouse because they believe they should be the one to make that choice because they are wiser and more experienced in the field of marriage.
The only way to make a better choice of a life partner is by going on your knees and asking your heavenly Father to lead you to the right person and when he answered by giving you the right person, never you allow whatsoever your parents think to stop you from what God has declared..let's look @what the bible say concerning this issue
(genesis 2:25)therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife and they shall become one..why allowing parents to make the choice when you will leave them to start your own family and when you are actually the person going to stay with your partner and not them?
a young man wrote on this platform that he can never marry a lady who his mother doesn't approve of,,to a certain point is very wrong..your mum has been there for you through the good and bad times but without God she wouldn't have been able to push through so what if God does approve and your mum doesn't seem to see it that way?
proverb 5:18)let your fountain be blessed and rejoice in the wife of your youth) we should always learn to seek the face of God when it comes to issues like this because without him we are nothing,the word of God is complete..build your marital life on the foundation of God and it wouldn't come crashing but build it on any other foundation and it will be filled with regrets
if you see the quality you need in a man or woman u want to settle with then don't be distracted..pray ceaselessly with your partner and God will do the rest
#my advice to young ladies out there is love your in-laws no matter how they treat you,,remember your parents gave birth to you same way they gave birth to their son so it just a trying time,,they will come around to love you because u will equally give birth to their grandchildren same way they gave birth to their son so pray for them and be strong for your family.
#my advice to the young men out there,don't allow your family to treat you wife anyhow (1st Peter 3:7 likewise husband, live with your wife in an understanding way ,show honor to your wife as the weaker vessel,since their heirs with you of the grace of life so that your prayers may not be hindered).
