I am new to Oracle database, can i build a school management portal with just oracle database alone, experts please advice. |

Oracle is the RDBMS. RDBMS is the relational database management system. You still need a peripheral to communicate with the database and produce results. Either you are sticking with a programming language or you are not doing anything. It's as simple as that. Oracle database is good as it has security, but the peripheral you should use can either be C#, C++, Java (best bet) or developer 2000. Peripheral is the software language. You should learn to use drivers as well as everything else that follows. |

What if the peripheral i choose is MySQL? |

kamikaze2458: MySQL is the RDBMS. Peripheral means helper to communicate with the db. |

So it's either i choose to learn any programming language that can be linked with the database to produce an app or i continue strictly with basic database functions only. |

kamikaze2458: My point exactly. Unless you are trying or learning SQL only. Otherwise, learn a language to communicate with the database. |
