Brainiacmrtolz:

If you need to rebuke please write letters just as apostle Paul always did, even Samuel protected the dignity Saul in public, when he failed to killed all man and animal in the and as God instructed because Samuel knew that judgement is of God only.
Nathan never publicised his rebuke unto David for for the world to hear.

If you know the rate at which social media and print media of this generation has driven people from God you wouldn't want to go online and start condemning ministers of God, because there are some people who gave their life to Christ because of them.

It destroys them, their works and all they stand for
Christians even go to extent of printing out articles just to destroy ministries they don't like and claim God revealed unto them to do so.
In the Islamic world, if you speak against their religion or leaders, it's called blasphemy and you can get killed for it. Not because they believe that they are perfect but they protect their own.

But in the Christian world it is a normal thing. We get attacked and killed all the time.
Even christians against each other and the unbelievers ridicules and rejoice about it.

Now if you declare to the world that certain ministers of God are bad all the time how perfectly can you can prove to unbelievers(who has their own believes and religions) the authenticity of your religion.

My point is it takes a lot of courage and sacrifice to put yourself out there to preach the gospel of God. So if you must rebuke or protest against against a minister of God. Don't go cowardly online and condemn him or her. Write a letter or personally approach him or her and give your counsel.

My brother , I get your honest concerns and sentiments

Do you know if they have been approached personally? No. The bone of contention here is your hypocritical support for people who do things that are not inline with the scriptures because they claim to be ministers of God. Who made them ministers? Are they ministers by their word or by the word of God. Well the issue is not who is and who is not a ministers. I would continue to say I am not a Christian who window dresses and try to make believe. That is pretence. The social media is for everyone. Using the social media is not only for the so called minister but also for those who may be deceived by the false teaching of a self acclaimed minister. And peradventure the minister would also have the time to read this and ponder on it then we might be able to have a honest discussion.

My point is ....you don't compare Christianity with any other religion cos as far as I know salvation is only through Christ. The beauty of Christianity is this we all are meant to test all things by the word of God and hold unto that which is good. We must defend the word of God by the word of God anywhere, anytime. If we make this our culture the better for the faith we hold. Let's leave this topic ....whatsapp..08185062942( introduce yourself as "brother with the brain" )

Yesterday, I decided to listen to the official video of Sinach's most famous worship song, 'Way Maker':

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4XWfwLHeLM
I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed this video much better than her singing during the Benny Hinn program I reviewed earlier.

However, I have a problem. At 4:32 she spoke some words which I don't understand: "bo shadada vandasanda". After singing some more, at 4:52, she sang these words "o rerererebo shande yama zeke allelu," which I don't understand either. When I asked for the translation, I was told she was speaking in tongues which, fortunately, can be interpreted by those who have the gift of interpretation.

I hereby call upon Nairalanders with the gift of interpretation of tongues to interpret those words for us so we can fully appreciate the song.
i can't stop laughing. Don't tell me you are still on this christian vs atheist thing..

i think you are making mockery of their belief which is not fair. I believe in fairness and freedom because everyone have right to worship whatever pleases them.
there are other ways you can speak your mind, but not as far as creating a thread just to cause disorderliness and unnecessary argument.

so I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost (speaking in tongues ) a few weeks ago. trust me it is real. and since then the God has been speaking to me.

the very day I started speaking in tongues, I criticized the Holy Spirit, saying all sort of things. then we went to a Christian brothers to argue about it. he talked to us. he then asked me if I could speak in tongues. I said no. we prayed and I started speaking in tongues. at first it was like rubbish but later I started singing in tongues (yes you heard me right) uncontrollably.

those of you that don't believe. please kindly walk into any Bible believing church and say you want to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. trust me The God I serve would work wonders.

And I would never have believed that speaking in tongues really meant anything worthwhile until one day at home, my flat mate then returned from his church HICC quoting a dynamic preacher who was an invited guest and at intervals in his message would say 'ihon ihon'.

I could only but inform him that by my dialectical translation, it meant 'i have heard, i have heard'. Coming from yoruba preacher with zero understanding of the Esan language? I feared God and His ways the more.
This is not at all compelling. (1) The preacher could have learned the word from a friend. (2) In an abundance of gibberish, it is inevitable that some of the individual words would sound similar to a real word in some language, because there are so many languages in the world. (3) For what purpose did God choose to make a speaker utter a word that only people who speak your particular dialect would understand??

1 Corinthians 14:4
4 He who speaks in a [strange] tongue edifies and improves himself, but he who prophesies [interpreting the divine will and purpose and teaching with inspiration] edifies and improves the church and promotes growth [in Christian wisdom, piety, holiness, and happiness].
[/color]

So that's the case with Sinach . She wasn't giving a word of prophecy in tongues which requires interpretation but she was rather edifying herself. And that's the case when you find a whole church speaking in tongues . They are either praying to God or edifying themselves . Such require no interpretation
If the tongues were meant only for Sinach's personal edification (though since Sinach herself did not understand what she was saying, it's hard to imagine exactly how she was being "edified" by the tongues), then why was she led by the spirit to record the tongues in her video?

Congratulations, everyone. We have a serious translation below!

I lift you on high.

Let your name be praised

However, a lovely lady named Nyaso-Lyn provided the translation below in response to my youtube comment:
For he is Lord of Lords and the Lord Almighty is his Name.... is what she said in the last tongues.

I have a gift of the spirit of discernment and prophesy. This song got me into a beautiful almost 1 and a half hour intercession and it's when I managed to understand what she said.

How do we figure out which translation is the correct one? Thanks.

The Bible says in 1 Corper 14:28 one can speak to oneself (in tongues)and to God that's what she did . If it's a message for all . She will interpret.

There is not much that can be explained to you. You know christian things are for Christians .

1 Corinthians 2:16(KJV Strong's)
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

So. Since your spiritual circle is greatly expanded, kindly direct me to them so I can know them.

I have a long list of tongues that need to be seriously decoded.

Thanks.

Let me tell you about one, my grandma. Her tongue is in Hausa language. Ordinarily, she doesn't know anything about Hausa but whenever she's in the spirit, she speaks the language while the hausa woman in the church does the interpretation.

How coherent is the Hausa that your grandma miraculously speaks? Can you record some of it for us? Could it be that the Hausa woman just picks the few Hausa-like words in your grandma's babble-stream and concocts interpretations based on those few Hausa-like words?

Speaking in tongues in the ancient texts means speaking in another language. ..sad to say but I haven't heard someone speak in tongues in mandarin or Chinese...anyone who does that 'll v a registered disciple (me)

smiley

femzysticks:
interpretation of tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit...

tongues also is not an earthly language but a spiritual language..

you need to be highly connected to the spirit to understand (when you have the gift)

not interpreting plane text...

the meaning is not certain..

when we speak in tongues.. the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. that is He prays for us. telling God our heart desires and worship...

so the meaning of that at that time may not be be meaning later..

it takes men of the spirit to understand things of the spirit!!!

@OP Sir, may I know why you became an atheist?
To your question, what I know is that you need someone with the gift of interpreting tongues -- a gift of God -- to interpret it for you IF it is in fact an actual "tongue".
