ANECDOTE

An anecdote is a brief, revealing account of an individual person or an incident.

Often humorous , anecdotes differ from jokes because their primary purpose is not simply to provoke laughter , but to reveal a truth more general than the brief tale itself, such as to characterize a person by delineating a specific quirk or trait, to communicate an abstract idea about a person, place, or thing through the concrete details of a short narrative.

An anecdote is "a story with a point." Anecdotes may be real or fictional; the anecdotal digression is a common feature of literary works, and even oral anecdotes typically involve subtle exaggeration and dramatic shape designed to entertain the listener.

However, an anecdote is always presented as the recounting of a real incident, involving actual persons and usually in an mere identifiable place. In the words of Jurgen Heine, they exhibit "a special realism" and "a claimed historical dimension."

When i tell religious folks that the whole idea about God and its acclaimed acts, are mere mental constructions, religious folks are quick to say, " when you ENCOUNTER God", you will understand.

From all their gist on this platform, it's perfect to say that,

Personal anecdotal evidence = God encounter.

The meaning of this, is that anyone who could weave anecdote, as long as the folk uses God thread, God encounter is established.

Christians often implore me to seek God. If I do, they assure me I will find him. But I already know they are right.

When the ancient Greeks sought God they found Zeus and Aphrodite, the ancient Iranians found Ahura Mazda, Hindus today find Vishnu, Brahma plus a host of other gods and Christians find Jesus and Yahweh. Humans have found many thousands of gods over millennia.

Finding gods is not the problem--humans are very proficient at it. The gods do not even have to exist yet humans can still find them. The problem for humans is not finding gods, it is demonstrating that their gods are real.
That is something that has never been accomplished.

Papa adeboye demonstrated it before, scientists from Ford motor are consulting him, on how to drive car without fuel.

Arhc idahosa demonstrated it before, bereaved folks are still consulting him on how to raise the dead......

I was telling CoolUsername the kind of evidence suitable for a personal God not the Supreme Being . The personal God is all about the Supreme Being being interested in human affairs - his divine presence experienced on earth . Humans having personal relationships with him etc .

Searching for "anecdotes" and "anecdotal evidence " will produce different results .

E.g There are documented evidence of Catholic priests and levitation

I grew up and became a man.
When I became a man, I met a cow....

And blah blah blah blah blah.

Anyone can form a story.
Anyone can relate seemingly connected experiences and relate them as evidence.

Ancedote boosts personal conviction; strengthens the fellow believer and is an all round favorite for testimonies.

The added bonus that it can't be subjected to empirical and objective scrutiny makes it juicer.

Those guys will never understand before na, only us chosen ones will.

And so the cycle continues.....

The usual half full, half empty syndrome. What useful value is the semantics - "a personal God" or "Supreme being".

Exactly!!! God is right there within you, residing in the mind of the brain. God Almighty is the father of little gods we have ever heard of, e. g Vishnu, Yahweh, Allah, etc

The needless and useless semantics of "personal God" and "Supreme being", only find existence in both deists and theists minds.

For the purpose of clarity and needless Labour, God, in whatever adjectival presentation, is "immaterial in it's idealistic concept.
