Op I'm not Igbo, and I'm not trying to start a tribal war rather just make some points. I too have lived in the north. I spent 12plus years there:kano state at the height of religious and ethnic crisis. The truth is the north is more peaceful now. Except maybe southern Kaduna. Now I've relocated to my beloved South west. And like I said I survived many religious and ethnic riots that claimed the lives of many Igbo and yoruba people. The truth is till this moment I do not hate any hausa man. They are also victims as much as those they were trying to kill. You need to see how some hausa defended Yorubas and igbos with their lives to know what's truly going on.ask your brothers who live in these remote places if they truly hate their hosts. You will find out none of them do. Why? Because they understand better than anyone after all they are the ones living there. On the issue of relocating their businesses back home and all that. I'd respectfully say that you are being naive. Igbos today take pride in their ability to make it anywhere. The truth is the igbo's have a talent for trade . we are different from each other and we all must know our strengths and weaknesses. Those people you are asking to return home all know where they 'made' it. And it wasn't in Igboland. How many great Igbo business men and women made their fortune while sitting in the east? Find out their percentage and you will begin to understand that this one Nigeria is a partnership. So who would heed that call. Whether or not you wish to secede from Nigeria is what the igbo's should really think about. You may think other people hate you but many of your own made it other places. Places where you curse. The truth remains that if other peoples of Nigeria hated igbo's as much as you like to belive, your sons and daughters won't be at every nook and cranny of Nigeria . where they set up businesses and are patronized by their host.
So because they made it outside Igboland, they should remain there?

You are igbo , you come here to argue about how our region is better than other region. After seeing so many likes, you feel you have achieved a lot and you go back to bed fulfilled and feeling like a boss.

But we have another Igbo man, who works day and night on a project to see the Igbo dream come alive. He hasn't engaged in any fight with anybody neither does he spend time arguing. He is trying to see a way a final solution to our teeming problems will be solved.

I have been to many places in this country, not that many of these places are superb, to be frank, I careless about those areas. The one thing that touches me about these places is that, I still see my brothers hanging around there and believing God for a miracle.

A case scenario: I was working in Daura. My project spanned throughout Katsina. I was able to see how these places are. From Maiadua to Jibia. From Funtua to Katsina town, etc. So one night, I was coming back from work to rest in my apartment in Daura. I decided to get toiletries. Close to where I was buying, I saw a man selling something. He spoke Igbo to his son that they should pack that its already late. I was moved to speak with him because he is my brother. I asked him what he was doing in Daura, he said he is trading. I got very angry and told him that, even if he opens this shop in the remotest village, he will still be successful. Why put you and your family in danger by coming to Daura to trade. Not even for a short time but till you grow old. He got angry too that what's my concern. I shouted at him that he should go back home and stop putting his children in danger. I was so vexed that I nearly wanted to scatter his business.

ogini k'unu ne me ne be?

what sort of downgrade is this?

If you think they are pursuing you in your village, no one is pursuing you in the next village. okay.

We need as a matter of urgency look into the development of the region.

I was in heartland hotel, Abuja where IMO state house is. The receptionist was just called that her brother's house in Kaduna south was burnt and he wants to relocate back home. I was very sad to see that my people just spend so much money to later regret every move. its very sad!

If you are Igbo and you are staying in the following areas:

Sabin Gari
Funtua
suleja
minna
badawa
gwagalada
zuba
nyanya
orile
ilaje
makoko
ilara mokin
sarki

and other crazy places.

What are you doing there? is it the ten kobo that you are making that you can't make at home?

It is time to go home! invest home now.

....the earlier Igbo started to tell themselves the truth the better. The earth is in motion as the people will always move round the world, nobody can change that. Many find it dificult or imposible to live in their home town not because of thier wishes but with other condition or other! so trying to force such person to retun home is a dilemma!
What Igbo need to do is to accomodate evey one irrespective of their ethnic and religious afiliation in their home land and also have convention to declare themselves Nigerian, that ready to defend the interest of Nigeria at all cost no matter be the situation!
any where in the world it's foreigner that develop the place.
Igbo solely can never develop Igbo land. Don't be hold down by the past! leave the past for history and dream of the better future

I'm happy over the nature of the discussion and i support both sides of the discussion. however i think we need to form an association of young professionals from the old eastern region including states like akwa ibom and bayelsa to plan and head our people in turn right direction. our current crop of leaders are of no or little use to us.

HE doesn't seem to know what he is talking about or he didnt get the op's message.Igbos can manufacture at home and send the products all over the world if the quality is good. But even at that the igbos need their own big local market,if they remain scattered all over nigeria in hostile communities, how is that possible?I have never been to the east but the fact that igbos keep trooping to the west gives me certain negative impressions about the place:it's like an exodus. At a point when hostilities against them became rife, the israelis started returning home even before they got statehood in 1947.

To be frank forget everything you read online. . . The south east is densely populated. . I used to live in lagos until January 9 2016. I believe thr is more opportunity in the south east than in d remote north... The only reason they move to the north is because of low food price and housing. . . Standard of living is low.... Less competition.....

I am from Nnewi and live in Nnewi here. . The hustle is real and those who couldn't feel d heat got out of the kitchen to lagos and north.

Let's the truthful...No matter how hard we try....we still need the federal government....industries and infrastructures like airports, seaports etc plus our work ethic, will make development of our region faster....

Coming back to develop home, means coming back to our state capitals....what about other LGA's?....

We're only bringing back our businesses home...what about roads, schools, electricity?....

We have to broadly think....

Dozzy Group, Orange Drugs, Ekulu Group, Juhel Pharm, Golden Oil, Krisoral, GUO, YSG, Chisco, Ifesinachi etc all made it in Igboland before expanding, that you hear only about Lagos millionaire doesnt mean other places lack billionaires.

What percentage of Yoruba millionaire made it in ibadan, oyo, akure, ogbomoso or ado if not Lagos

When Nigeria had 19 states, Owerri was once the ONLY state capital without an airport.Like Sam Mbakwe single handedly built the Owerri airport when the FG refused to build airport in Owerri and it was thought a state government could not build one on its own.

An affordable reliable regional railway network must be developed through PPP Build, Operate, Transfer arrangement. The good thing is that the total length to achieve this network is not even up to 600KM!

The China Exim bank has given loans to Kenya, Ethiopia and Nigeria for similar projects using Chinese companies.

The SE with even more viable transport routes and very terrible Federal Roads in the region should explore the Chinese opportunity and build a regional transport railway network to be managed by a private company.

Although the respective state governments will hold minority shares in the company for their effort facilitating the project.

Then you are not serious, my brother. Because if u are, you would know that the only way real development is achieved anywhere is by government-led policies and interventions. And in Nigeria nay south east, you can only get to government to influence these decisions on the platform of a political party, which in turn, influences your actions and inactions. So u are just an online noise-maker. Goodluck with ur 'Igbo-come-back-home' noisemaking.
You talk like a kid, I na eme nkwugheli, who does not know that our politicians with no exceptions are irresponsible, corrupt, wicked and selfish. who does not know that it is the same politicians hiding under different political parties that are driving our people away to strange lands where they pillaged at no provocation. the Op is trying to muster courageous minds who will help pressure our politicians to submission and also drive the think home philosophy and you are here talking about political affiliation. join APGA or APC they will dash you some money if that is what you need.

Some people are saboteurs that don't want the region to develop. Such people have been around us since during the civil war days.

My brother, this is very annoying. When you think they are doing well wherever they are, you find out that they are dying there, in silence. These people cannot just go home and throw shame away. They are only good at feeling ashamed when they come home but not to outsiders.

Another annoying place igbos stay is in Kano I.e badawa and kawo environs. These places are worst places you can ever stay as a person. Sincerely, I ask myself, what kind of life are these people living there? They think they are better off than people living in the village? They don't know because they don't go home.

I will keep ringing it in people's ears, no place in Nigeria makes much sense. I have been to 90% of all areas in Nigeria due to the job I do. They have urban areas in those states while we have ours too. their rural areas are worse than ours. No potable water in most areas in the north and their sachet water is worst. They are amassing so much health issues for themselves.

I feel so bad seeing these people suffer, seriously.

I believe that Barth Nnaji, Paschal dozie et al created a political party before trying to create southeast development commission. The main problem with you all is that you want some set of people do your job while you come online to either judge them or praise them. The effect of our lackadaisical actions and let other people do it mentality is the bane of the problem we are facing in the east.
