it all depends on you. All you need is the flare for it, be it networking, developing(programming) or any other.
As per where to learn, any school or institution will teach you ONLY the basics. You need to learn the real stuffs on your own.

guru, just as Tope said, u just have to decide where your interest is and where u can be best proud. The truth is that U CAN'T clearly split developer and dba. I prefer being a developer/dba because i can sit down at this corner of my room and develop enterprise apps!!! ooops!

Could this be true?

Fortunately I am a living witness.
NIIT is an IT company in India which has its offices in over 40 countries in the world, Nigeria & Ghana inclusive.

The blind truth about Niit is just that they are not independent or sole in their essence as far as NIgeria is concerned. Independent people or org. goes to them for accreditation. and then they become there rep. bearing their name NIIT. As far as my experience in Osogbo is concerned on A+ certification scholarship that I got N30,000 (excellent grade). The place is nothing of standard as far as I could rate them. There courses are expensive. There certificate as far as I know is not better or cannot substitute for the proprietary certificate such as (OCP, CCNA, A+, N+,JAVA). Unless you have much to spare I am advicing you against it.

Lastly, find a way to prepare urself very hard and take the exam. the Proprietary certificate is what counts,

The lady sitting next to me in my office is a atudent of APTECH. She made me realize it's a franchise (Meaning that I can own my APTECH!), just conform to their principles; most especially; the Name

You could imagine how difficult it is to seek a transfer from one centre to another within such an IT-riddled organisation. It's obvious they are disconnected in a way.

I'm afraid the same might apply to NIIT.

The schools are bastardized.

No doubt, their certificates are heavy but many Nigerians go there because of high possibillity of traveling out through them because of their affiliations.

I'm sure there are crazy gurus there but,

If for their Certificate; go there
If for becoming crazy and getting certified-get ur laptop, couple of books, couple of guys, couple of time with the internet and a little gap from ur barbie doll! (baby garl)

Regards
