Where was this decree or promulgation made? How did it get into our different cultures in Nigeria? Is it at all necessary? Considering the problems and troubles women go through to achieve a name change, while most of their documents still bear maiden names, is it worth the trouble? Women in some parts of the world do not have to change their names, why is it compulsory in Nigeria? |
