Beauty they say is in the eyes of the beholder. I listened to Pastor Joseph Prince and he said that even today the Midianites are still in charge of thought patterns only now they have metamorphosed to the media. Funny right? I thought so too.

But take a moment to think about it, the media has labeled robust African women Fat and ugly.

Everyone wants to be a size one even those with huge bone frames. The famous statement black is beautiful is now obscure since everyone wants to be light skinned; even beautiful, chocolate brown, dark skinned women have now become a rare species.

(God help us).

Everyone dresses in a certain way, everyone wears makeup with concealed eyebrows, every man irrespective of age or color has joined the beard gang. It appears the media says jump and we just ask how high.

Irrespective of what this generation defines as beauty or elegance I still think that the inner beauty supersedes what everyone can see as the appearance. Many people are fair outside and charcoal black inside.

We spend hours and hours trying to make our bodies which end up as dust beautiful but forget to imbibe cultures like gentleness, kindness, love peace and you can name a whole lot.

Beauty shouldn’t be defined with only what the eyes can see. What about what you can feel?

Have you met very handsome men who have never ever told the truth since they were born?

What about very beautiful ladies who don’t even have the courtesy to pronounce simple words like “thank you”, “am sorry”, “are you ok?” They are so rude and ill behave.

I also do not mean to say that we all should concentrate on inner beauty alone. While you are nice, loving and caring take some time to take care of yourself, Love yourself, and wear those things which do justice to your frame, stature, and personality. Rihanna wears boots and silhouette gowns does not mean Monique can too.

Different strokes for different people.

No matter your body stature, skin color, height or whichever category biology has put you in, don’t forget Beauty starts from the inside than out. Be beautiful and elegant inside as well as out.

Let people feel your resonance before they see your shiny face and matte lips. Don’t get it twisted, looking good is good business but you can make others feel good too.
