Please what does the word "crash" mean in the dictionary? According to Collins dictionary, one meaning of "Crash" says: "to collapse or fail suddenly". Didn't MMM fail in all those countries mentioned? Are you a three year old kid?

Using the word "crash" is used to refer to the MMM system being a failure and not successful. MMM failed in China, South Africa and Zimbabwe, that isn't a crash right? China termed it as a fraudulent scheme and expunged it from their country. In South Africa they froze the monies of members and in Zimbabwe its clearly stated how many folks lost their monies.

I don't blame you, keep having hope and defending a fraudulent scheme, I pray your type doesn't commit suicide in January when reality sets in. grin
I told you to up your comprehension skills you are here acting bullish. In the specific context of the post you copied from Wikipedia coupled with the definition of crash you have again given it is obvious to even a three year old child that MMM has not crashed. Let me help you out. In law a contract can be frustrated by operation of law as in government intervention for example. That is not the same as saying that it has failed when any of the parties fail to perform an obligation under the terms of the contract. You used the word crashed as if left to its own MMM failed which I felt was misleading. Wikipedia never said it crashed. You imposed your own twist on it and went to town feeling smug. Meanwhile it was clear you never read what you posted. I ask you again if a man is killed is that the same as saying he died of Natural causes say sickness for example? Granted he has died but is killed the same as dieing naturally? Think first ooo before you answer, don't run and go and quote something else ooo

Don't mind all these people! Mmm has not crashed anywhere. Check out these screen shots. Also, when ultimate cycler was doing up grade, there was so much news. Now it's fully back, they don't even want to talk about it. Bunch of cynics!
Mister man, go and read about the past of MMM in all countries that it has so far gone to, Starting from Russia (the criminal and convict's country). I almost "invested" my money, but I did some research and discovered that it was one big scam, I now thank God for my decision, as I hate being swindled and making a "419-ner" feel like he is smart, even though whatever money I put in would have been inconsequencial (I don't drop my life savings for anything).
Starting from Russia, to Zimbabwe, South Africa, the scheme crashed and many people lost their lives due to it, what made you think that Nigeria would be different?
A question you should ask yourself is that, do you think anyone would want to pump money into MMM come January? The panic MMM created with the sudden freeze of the accounts will make everyone want help, and I believe no one will provide such help, so where will they get money to pay to the swarming population of people seeking to withdraw their cash? The only thing they can do is to pay out people themselves (which I seriously doubt they will be willing to do), if they are to restore trust in the scheme.
Anyways, I sympathise with all my brothers that will have to celebrate Christmas with nothing, my heart really goes out to you.

ON MMM: ‘WE WILL RATHER NOT REMAIN AS WE WERE’

December 13, 2016 was a day they’ve all been waiting for, doomsayers, naysayers; oh how they relished the opportunity, oh how their hormonal levels were raised, it was the “I told you so” moment they had so much longed for. It was probably the best thing to happen to some of them in months, miserable fellows, in their warped mind-set and tinted realities, they would rather have everybody remained as they were.
These set of people, because of their stubborn resolve to not open their mind to learning/ re-learning and because of their too cautious approach ride on a high horse of sheer ignorance and will blare Ponzi scheme at every given opportunity even when confronted with facts and realities as regards MMM. This group of people would rather remain as they were while others around them are making progress; the only thing positive in their outlook is waiting for a day when they will have the opportunity to mock the fate of others, the opportunity to say with gusto “I was right”. They fail to realize that life itself is a risk, when you take risks, you win some and you lose some, not taking risks at all because of not wanting to lose makes one the ultimate loser. Even though some of them have been barely making ends meet and have directly or indirectly benefitted from the ‘MMM’ money they have so derided, this ephemeral moral victory is enough to fill their probably empty bellies.
What I know and I know so well is ‘’even if MMM crashes’’ and given the circumstances, I will still participate over and over again, a resolution that applies to millions of other participants who have imbibed the MMM ideology. I make bold to say that this is the only platform that has brought smiles to the faces of millions of Nigerians and made millionaires of out of them in such a short period of time!!! No government policy or initiative in recent times has brought more hope and succour in such a short time span. It has rather been a plethora of unfulfilled promises, dashed hopes, sorrows tears and blood. In actual fact, government has been the biggest Ponzi operator in Nigeria, robbing and ripping citizens off for the benefit of a corrupt and undeserving few. Folks that have seemingly lost all hopes and disconcerted with happenings around them now approach life with renewed confidence and enthusiasm, dead businesses now have new life injected into them, students have been able to pay their tuition, crimes have arguably been reduced and even the economy hasn’t been left out, with increased liquidity and trade volumes at a time when recession has almost stifled life out of the Nigerian economy.
I know of folks who barely had tens of thousands in their bank accounts who now have hundreds of thousands, not to talk of those that are now millionaires, who probably never had such hopes at least not anytime soon. Those naysayers would have rather we traded all of that and remain like we ‘were’.
Some believe that MMM participants are lazy and greedy folks, but the fact is amongst these participants are great minds, intellectuals and professionals that cut across different fields and sectors of the economy, contributing their own quota to the growth of the economy, in fact when one looks at the farthest right side of the Mavro section on the MMM platform, there is a space titled ‘dreams’, meaning that MMM expects you to pursue your dreams, goals and aspirations with what you make from the system. MMM only wants to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, MMM only wants to make things easier for people when they pursue their dreams and aspirations. Some believe that the only way to make it in life is to work hard and harder, and anyone with riches that have not been seen/ viewed to work hard in their distorted realities must have cut corners or been a fraud. While this is not to cast away the place of working hard in pursuing one’s dream, it must be realised that having access to the right information sometimes is only what is needed to make a headway in life and not necessarily working hard, this is what distinguishes between the rich and the poor, the rich always have access to the right information to stay ahead of the pack and even pay over the top to get it.
Apparently, not all Nigerians will join MMM, not even half the population, but those that have willingly participated should not be unjustly castigated or maligned for the choices they have made as they wouldn’t judge the critical ones for the choices they make with their lives also, live and lets live; each man to his own. It’s high time these critical elements stopped acting like they are other people’s moral compass or like they are in a position to determine what is good for others. Nobody is forcing anybody to join MMM, let people just focus on what they do and find happiness in it, there isn’t much to life than that.
While these people may enjoy their and make a show of their momentary triumphalism, MMM will be back!! Better and stronger!!! And they will come again with their prediction of doom and gloom, patiently waiting for their moment of validation while Mavrodites will make bigger and bigger strides with their lives. And even if the malignant moment they are waiting for surfaces again, we will dwell on the good tides and happy memories it has brought us, because we’d rather be financially blessed because we were curious than broke because we were sceptical and because we know that life itself is inherently risky. There is only one big risk that should be avoided at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing!!!

No one is maligning anyone here, just that I don't want to hear wails of people who got swindled, or news of "men collapsing in banking halls", or people commiting suicide because of MMM. And yes, MMM will be back, but not in Nigeria, I believe they have moved their (rapidly moving) train to Kenya.

MMM people will continue to lie to themselves that what they're doing is right. But none of them can explain how Tola, John, and Samuel each have N100 and they'll 'invest' the money somewhere without doing ANY WORK, and all of a sudden it will grow by 30%. They can't explain. Anyone capable of doing MMM is a criminal.

The Monkey Money Madness! (MMM)
Once upon a time in a village, a man appeared and announced that he would buy monkeys for N100 each. The villagers seeing that there were so many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at N100 and as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their efforts. He further announced that he would now buy at N200. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished and people started going back to their farms. The offer rate increased to N250 but the supply of monkeys became so little that it took much effort to even see a monkey, let alone catch one.
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at N500! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his behalf.
In the absence of the man, his assistant told the villagers: ''Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that my OGA has bought from you, I will sell them to you at N350 and when my OGA returns from the city, you can sell it to him at N500''.
The villagers squeezed out all their HARD EARNED savings and bought all the monkeys. The most greedy ones among them even sold their lands to purchase many MONKEYS, hoping to make a huge profit without labor.
Then...
They never saw the man or his assistant. Only monkeys everywhere!
Welcome to MMM. The world of Monkeys !
Be wise.

Why are Nigerians this dumb?

MMM's story was carried by CNN, MMM is the 5th most visited website in Nigeria, 9.8 out of 10 adults in Nigerian know about MMM, so with all that you all feel it shouldn't be talked about on a discussion forum like Nairaland? We would keep talking about it till when we want!

You all are just in a state of denial and don't wanna be reminded of how you can't sleep at night in anticipation of the reality in January that your invested money is gone!!!

And who says MMM participants don't deserve to be laughed at? How can an educated person invest in something which has no source in which your money is being invested, where do you think the 30% comes from? That's a fraudulent system! MMM participants deserve to be laughed at, we rebuke and laugh at petty thieves who are caught, some are even lynched, MMM participants are clear collaborators of a fraudulent scheme, they are fraudsters as well, they deserved to be ridiculed and laughed at!

I took my time to read about MMM yesterday instead of joining a pool of ......... people celeberating the Rumor about the crash of MMM
But sadly MMM freezes payment for one month and you're all rejoicing on social media,
yet state Government(s) has owed your mother/father 6 month's salary, promotion arrears and even pension, and you've not mused a single word here.
Your ignorance can't be described with words, it can only be acted out.
I wonder what some people stand to gain by celebrating the Rumored crash of MMM.
How does it affect your own personal life if not wickedness of hope to see your fellow human cry and in pains.
or how does it affect the GDP of our economy?
The main characteristic of successful people is their ability to take risk. And if you don't have that trait it does not mean that you are a lesser human
I think most Nigerians are acting like witchcraft in this side of the planet earth..

The only reason I'm still replying you to this point is because you don't sound as uncouth and crude as other MMM zombies! That said, you still need to be freed from the illusion you are engrossed in about MMM.

The Wikipedia link about MMM Zimbabwe stated this and I quote: "This made some participants let their funds remain in the program while others withdrew their funds to suffer an 80% loss of their money "invested". [16] This affected 66,000 Zimbabweans and caused some economic instability."

Isn't that a collapse in the system? If you deposit N100,000 in a bank and the bank later tells you that they can only pay you N20,000 and that you must let go of N80,000 would you smile about that? Isn't that clear fraud? And this was done to all MMM participants in Zimbabwe who wanted to withdraw and you are still finding excuses to justify MMM. Wasn't the deal that they would pay investors 130% ROI? Doesn't that clearly show a breach of "contract" and fraud?

I don't blame Nigerians like you guys, your avarice nature led you all to MMM and you guys can't seem to accept reality that you all engaged in a fraudulent scheme which was destined to collapse, and yet, you all call yourselves devoted christians and muslims, what a pity!

Why are you gamblers hell-bent on redefining MMM?

Mavrodi himself used the terms "scheme" and "pyramid" to describe MMM. He is even kind enough to issue disclaimers and warnings:

Below is an excerpt from MMM Global's website clearly written on the first page.

WARNING!

There are no guarantees and promises! Neither explicit nor implicit.

There are neither investments nor business! Participants help each other, sending each other money directly and without intermediaries. That’s all! There's nothing more.

There are no securities transactions, no relationship with the professional participants of the securities market; you do not acquire any securities. (Do you need them? :-))

There are no rules. In principle! The only rule is no rules. At all! Even if you follow all of the instructions, you still may "lose". "Win" might not be paid. Without any reasons or explanations.

And in general, you can lose all your money. Always remember about this and participate only with spare money. Or do not participate at all! Amen. :-))

Citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus are not allowed to participate in MMM

There is only one big risk that should be avoided at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing!!!

you call participating in MMM to taking a good business risk, it's more like the risk taking of a lazy and unimaginative mind

Even the founder knows it's a risky venture.. Some people are here shouting "we are helping ourselves" Una never chee chomeching.

For the ignoramus saying Seun hasn't done anything. I'd like to mention that I got two jobs from people I met on this forum. I'd rather be taught how to fish than giving me fish. The forum has a lot for us to learn.
