I have seen great lawyers, smart business Executives, freedom fighters etc plunge their homes into chaos after their death. Most times these are avoidable by mere following the below.

1. Not carrying each other along.

A lady ones told me she doesn't want her husband to know she bought a property from me,of course when I told her what she stand to lose she quickly agreed with me.

On a whole street somewhere in Lekki,40% of the properties have been lost to the agent or the friend of the original owner.

2. Not making a proper" Will".

The "Will" is one of the best gifts you can gift your loved ones.

Lawyers even sometimes fall into the trap of this oversight.

3.Hiding documents from one another.

The law says you can't give what you don't have.

4. Carrying your family ahead of your spouses.

As the practice is in Africa your spouse stand to lose out completely in the case of death.


5. Building unnecessary structures.

In no time the children will move on,trust me you may not need more than two rooms if and only if the other spouse agrees to a separate room arrangement.

6. Alienating each other in title registration.

There tends to be a breakdown of trust when the spouse feels he or she is not involved.

7. Not carrying each other in home design.

There is this common saying even though it is true that the Woman's office in the house is the kitchen.
