Cleric reveals personality of Satan

Apostle John OKoriko,Senior Pastor, Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Akwa Ibom State is not a stranger to controversies. Just as the dust on witchcraft controversies in which he took to task nearly all the pastors in Akwa Ibom, were beginning to lull, Okoriko has come out with another bunch of controversies. This time the controversies are embedded in his latest book entitled “Every Satan has a Human Face.”

The clergyman told Daily Sun that he wrote the 161-page book not necessarily to win argument in favour of any school of thought either ancient or modern, but to establish the truth that sets people free.
According to him, the book is out to debunk “the age-long belief in an unidentified spirit called Satan. Satan or devil, like God whether with capital or with small G, is a title not a name of anybody. But any human who does evil against the true God and humanity is always identified with either devil or Satan, meaning evildoer.

“The book is also debunking the illusion that Satan is responsible for man’s undoing, for example, failure in health, business (career), marriage, education, governance, even natural death and calamities, all these are blamed on Satan instead of man himself. The enthronement of the so-called Satan using preachments, prayers, songs[/b], prophecies in religious circles, prayer houses, occult and magic centres in conducting worship of the Lord God is abomination of the highest order, just as disregarding human ability to create negative images, thoughts and forms.”

Then who is to blame for the assumed evils taking over the world? Okoriko has only one word for an answer –Man. “Man in creation is next to the Almighty God. His ability to make himself a god or create a god of his own has never been in doubt. Man though fell from the grace of his maker still maintains the likeness and the exact image of his creator in the realm of imagination where all wickedness began in the beginning.”

The cleric who supports his assertion with Bible passages quotes; “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” He stresses that the Lord said He would “destroy man not Satan or spirit; not even the serpent which is believed to be the originator of evil did not share in the verdict because it is believed though blindly that the serpent was a spirit being.”
Delving into more controversies, the apostle says the serpent as depicted in the Bible is only metaphorical; but no serpent tempted Eve to fall but man, who convinced her into committing adultery.

“There were other people on earth referred to in the Bible as Eden. But a man on earth or Eden had a carnal knowledge of Eve and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. Cain was not the son of Adam but that of another man, and when he grew up, he continued in the wicked of his forebears by killing Abel. And that forbidden fruit is symbolic; it means sex.”

Okoriko says what motivated him to write the 10-chapter piece is because no one has been courageous enough to tell the truth or most adherents to the Christian faith have not been availed the truth concerning their belief. Rather, he said “all other most likely subjects are already over-flogged and the world market of such regular conventional issues at whatever topic are better handled by wise men and women of no mean repute before now. The world in its wisdom has produced professors in various endeavours, especially in education,science and technology, religion, occult, astrology just to mention but a few. I was led of the Lord to choose the title ‘Every Satan Has a Human Face’ because its time has come, and all truth is parallel, as is in science, so also it is in religion- for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed.

“No one or institution takes the honour or credit for this book; the lord gives and takes the glory. A situation where Christians and believers of other faiths conspire to be silent in this all important subject-matter is better known as A conspiracy of silence while all are talking Everyone is talking, blaming, accusing, charging and even rebuking Satan in preachments, prophesying, praying both in fear and in faith but nobody dares to ask this misunderstood, misrepresented, illusionary enemy or enemies such questions as David did- To who belongesth thou? And whence art thou?
“If anyone would dare to ask the right question at the right time, the law of providence requires: For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocked it shall be open.
“This book may seem to be the lone voice in the wilderness of scepticism, prejudice and outright superstition or ignorance. Nevertheless, the wisdom enshrined in the pages of this book will inspire millions around the world for whose sake this book is caused to be written to the glory and honour of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

A lecturer of political science, Dr E.O. Frank who reviewed the book when it was presented to the public, writes; “It is instructive to note that every Christian daily has to fight a battle with the phenomenon called Satan. Many do not know the make-up of Satan.
“In the light of this, is assuring that the book has finally unveiled Satan and this will enable every person to re-strategize on how to deal with Satan once and for all. Most importantly, this book has revealed the true name of Satan. It is herein posited that Satan is not devil, serpent, dragon or snake as the fairytales books would have it represented. It is instructive to note that this book dispels the age-long prejudice that Satan is always black as the fairytales would have us believe.

“The highpoint of this is that it has made known to me and you the following: its (Satan’s real name, house address, the location of town where it is domiciled, its GSM number, and most of all, it has availed us with how to deal with it, and how to avoid it if you choose to.”
He, however, said the title of the book creates fear and make people see everybody around them as a potential Satan since every Satan has a human face. But he concludes; “The book has changed the direction of my prayers since I now know who Satan is. You can make you prayer much more effective when you get to know who Satan is.”
