When you speak or write in "Naijeeze" or Pidgin English, do you find the spellings confusing? Why are there so many variations in spellings? Do you find the style used in radio adverts interesting? Do you say "help" or "helep", "abeg" or "I beg", "where you dey?" or "where you day?" Do you prefer to call it "broken", "pidgin" or like me - Naijeeze? I think we as Naija people should work on this unique language of ours and maybe someday, we can have documents published in it. Let's see what you guys think and post your usages and suggestions on what the correct Naijeeze should be.

If we standardized Naija Yarn (I prefer this to all other variants: Pidgin, Naijeeze, Broken), it would probably look something like this. .

(The below are taken, and re-written from the NL topic People Wey Sabi Write Pidgin: Make Una Show Una Skills).

Topic: Pipu We Sabi Raiti Naija Yan: Mek Una Sho Una Sho Una Skilusu

Post: Ho se wi no go yan Naija fo hia? Eniwe a jos aranji som kain stiu na. Di stiu trai sha, botu i no get beta fasilitizi insaidi am, botu a maneji am sha. Man no kpeme man no rotin. No mata no mata, Naija man go traivu. (who say we no go yarn pidgin for here? anyway i jus arrange some kind stew now. the stew try sha but e no get better facilities inside am but i manage am sha. man no kpeme man no rotten. no matter no matter, naija man go thrive)

Just an example of how I think it might turn out. . .
