I started using Depo a year ago everything was fine. I hardly had any of the injections side effects my weight is still the same, my moods are alright and everything seems normal to me.

However I haven't had my periods for 3 months now I'm really worried if it is a good thing or a bad thing? Anyone wAnyone who has used Depo and they know what's really happening? What to do in this situation? I love being on the injection because I don't have to do a daily routine and my Menstruation Cramps are no longer there. Share your experiences with me ladies please.

At your topic: Depo-Provera is not the same as MINERA.... MINERA is a small village in Wales, UK not a method of contraception. I'm sure you wanted to type MIRENA and MIRENA is an intrauterine contraceptive system NOT the same as Depo-Provera.

Depo-Provera is an effective injectable contraceptive given intramuscularly every 3 months. Some of the side effects include irregular bleeding, nausea, weight changes, heavy bleeding, etc especially within the first 6 months of use.

After one year the flow significantly reduces and may cease for a while in about halve of those using it. It may also fail, (although failure rate is low) and when it does pregnancy results and in majority of the cases it results to Ectopic pregnancy.

MIRENA is also very effective and is inserted into the womb and can last up to 3years with minimal side effects.

If you are worried do a pregnancy test and if it's negative, then don't worry just continue with the injectable.
Cheers!!
