The branch Manager of an old generation bank in Ibadan has been arrested by Command Police at Eleiyele for arranging with armed robbers to attack the bank. According to our source, on 15 October 2009, the manager was in the vault with other staffs and placed his two GSM phones on one of the shelves, when he received an SMS in one of the phones. After reading the message, he hurriedly left the vault leaving the other phone behind. While outside the vault, a call repeatedly came into the other phone which he left behind, and another staff picked up the phone to answer. But to his surprise, the caller said “Oga, we are waiting at that place, the ammunitions are already within the banking hall, courtesy a cleaner”. The staff immediately contact the policemen on bank guard, who immediately called for reinforcement from the State Command. The Manager, Cleaner and the gang of robbers numbering 27 were arrested and are giving useful information to the police.

This seems to be the "in thing" now.Bankers are the hottest source of information for robbers and kidnappers alike.I've always suspected this all along though.Three weeks ago, something similar happened at Oceanic bank (Festac) along 202 or so (Close to Immigration office).A guy just withdrawn some money, come out of the bank and over heard another guy on the outside recieving a call and he picked up the following conversation "WHAT IS HE WEARING?IS IT BLUE OR BLACK SHIRT?BLUE SHIRT?BLUE BA?OKAY. . .I AM WAITING FOR HIM TO COME OUT". The dude looked at himself and he was wearing a damned blue shirt ! He rushed back into the banking premises,talked to a few mopol in there, they came out and grabbed the sucker outside.His buddies in a car waiting outside zoomed off when they saw their plans were foiled.The mopol collected the sucker's phone, dialed it and behold, the phone that rang was that of the pretty lady who had just paid out to the guy who came to withdraw money.

This is fast becoming a problem.Bankers are something else now.

Even the way the robbers demand for the money (sometimes calling the actual amount you withdrew) is enough to let you know that the bankers have something to do with it.
