I can't help but notice the similarities between the obi regalia and the oba of benin regalia,Benin empire truly influence and transcend a lot of ethnic groups,
I don't like the idea of monarchs btw.

You are right. The Benin empire, at its heyday, influenced all the ethnic groups in Delta State and even went as far as Onitsha in Anambra State and Lagos City.

Issele-Uku kingdom has no quarrel with their Benin roots. This king visited the new Oba, as his fathers did, to confirm his legitimacy.

In Issele-Uku, it is a taboo for the king to be single. Hence, no matter how young he is, he must be married before being coronated.

The Kingdom was founded by Benin. Go there and ask the natives about their history, don't depend on what you read from online.

oh really? wow never knew, but Why are they bearing Igbo names, maybe they are Igbos and were once ruled over by the benin empire just like Lagos was, an empire is different from a kingdom you know.
