Dear mothers / parents in the house. I really do need help on how to handle a baby girl that just turned 2, heard its called naughty 2, it doesn't take my daughter 2 mins to turn the house upside down once my eyes is a way from her for 2 min, very destructive, experimenting everything and she has this chair u can't even separate from her carries it every where as a climbing aid to cause mischief. Few days ago while I was sleeping I was chocked from sleep only to see she has poured powder all over d house, I couldn't even breathe, today again she sat with my cream licking it and poured it all over the place , I was so mad and had to hit her bum, I started saying were u sent to frustrate me, u can't come and kill me oo, after few mins I sat back and felt guilty for smacking her.. what is the best way to handle kids at this stage cos am tired, the house always a mess I can't come and die mobbing the house more than twice a day would kill me as it's so hard getting a help here we ain't in Nigeria where people are always there to assist |

My LO is about the same age too and like the poster above me has said, try to create a play space for her. While that is not gonna stop her from ransacking the house, it will at least keep her busy most of the time. If you have an iPad or any kind of tab, download toddler developmental apps/games and let her have it. Has she started school? It's a phase, it's definitely gonna pass as they grow older. 1 Like |

Terrible twos it's called. She's just undergoing a normal developmental process, and be thankful for that. You however need to be more vigilant, as its a time to explore for them. They need constant supervision. That's all you can do. Don't beat her, as that wouldn't stop her from doing the same the next day or instead of powder, she'll use eggs instead. She doesn't really understand the implication of what she doing, and without constant supervision she can injure herself. You have to keep things like that -powder, medicines,kerosene etc say from where she can have access to it. Buy toys she can play with, and not just teddies but toys that'll help her mental devt- playsets that don't have small objects that can choke her, toys that sing/talk like music box etc 1 Like 1 Share |

That's another issue, she doesn't like toys at all, she prefers adult gadgets and the only thing she manages to play with is her tablet with kids app.as for the space i will create one ASAP. Thank you belamour: |

Truesapiosexual: Ok. I do not know the norm in the place where you are based but 2years is ok to start school. Mine started last term and second term will commence on the 9th. Mixing with other children will also help 'em expend the energy. Within the twinkle of an eye, they will become teens, enjoy their 'teenagehood' while it lasts. The joys of motherhood... |

@catalin the educational system here is quite different, she can't get into a proper/ formal school till she is 4 years old, her age goes to play groups and creche and the time frame is so short.. Catalin: |
