I've always heard from our politicians that Christians and Muslims worship same God but i find it hard to believe.

If they worship the same God, how is it that one has a son and the other doesn't? How is it that he inspires different conceptions of the after life? How is it that this same God prescribes different laws and ordinances to people of different religions, and assures each religion they are right while every other religion is wrong?

The Christianity and Islam are based on different conceptions of God .

The Christian concept of God posits that God is three consubstantial hypostases -3 persons namely God The Father , God The Son and God The Holy Spirit . These three are One and eternal - having no beginning or end .That is God ,the Supreme Being has a truine nature . And that God The Son incarnated as Jesus Christ on earth with a mission to save man .

The Islam concept of God posits that God is just one person or being not 3 persons of the same essence and substance like the Christian concept posits and that God The Son who is Jesus Christ is not God and his supposed incarnation to save man was not divine . But Christ was actually obeying a directive from God as a prophet .

William Craig said that the Islamic conception of God is false and defamatory because this conception does not fulfill what is required of a maximally great being who created the universe because God in Islam

1. Loves conditionally, you have to earn it

2. Loves partially

3. Does not love sinners , unbelievers

4. Is morally inadequate

But the Christian Conception of God has moral laws in accordance to His nature . God in Christianity

1. Reveals his love for mankind through Jesus Christ

2. Loves unconditionally

3. Loves sinners , the unrighteous , unbelievers

4. And is morally adequate

That's why it seems like there are different laws and ordinances .
