Hardwood/laminate Floors In Lagos Abeg by Toronto123: 10:07pm On Jan 06, 2017
Hello my people, abeg i always wonder why most homes in NIgeria nor get hardwood floor or laminate floor. I nor too like tiles at all. I find them very cold. I like tiles in bathroom but for living area, i rather have hardwood floors or laminate.

Someone says that is because the woods are not well treated but i am sure that cannot be true. Abeg opinions please

I too like hardwood floors and intend to test it out in at least one room on my project.

It has been rumored to be easily damaged by the dirt/grit that we track in from outdoors.

My plan is to have visitors take off their shoes when they enter the foyer before entering the main house.

Good luck on your project.

Oga u have a point but in this oyinbo land there are dirt too. I was wondering if it's the weather that can shrink it or if the wood are not properly treated may be an issue. I will like to hear from people who have installed it in their home. Also the skills too to install it. I can ship it down easily to Nigeria with a car but do we have the trusted hand to cut and install them

Good luck on your project.

We don't have the same amount of dirt here in the US compared to Naija.

There are skilled artisans to do high level detailed job.

I suggest that you look at some of Skimanski builds and the exquisite finishings.

No issue with laminate use in Nigeria once you go for AC3 or AC4 and minimum of 8mm. Better in bedrooms though because sand in other high traffic areas.

Installation of laminate is easy because of the locking system. You have sellers and installers in Nigeria.

Hardwood flooring is the undisputed King of flooring, so there's no surprise that someone is catching feelings for it right here.
It's durable.
It's super gorgeous.
It prevents both extreme cold and heat, wood being an insulator.
It increases the value of a home more than any other flooring out there. If you doubt me, ask your local Realtor.
Hardwood flooring possesses almost all that is desired in flooring, and it's actually a perfect fit for our temperate weather down here (cold and dampness could lead to cupping).
What's more?
Odozi Obodo is in the business of milling hardwood floors from the best looking and hardest hardwood species in Nigeria. Our trained professionals can handle the installation for you, making sure that your floor turns out exactly as you dreamt it.
