Okocha is a player dat i admired so much wt hs contribution in any team, surely hs a great player dat we missed a lot. Then d issue of bringing him back is nt d right idea cos when he okocha has neva bn discovered, our footbal was also good. So lets allow d new boys to improve cos we might even discover a better player than okocha in our local league or smwhere one day. We shuld be moving forward and nt backward cos the most talented and skillful footballers are yet to be discoverd even in d villages.

Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by SAMDOL(m): 3:02pm On Nov 26, 2009
thought i was the only one thinkin about this.
we really need okocha in our squad.
like my bro said 20 minutes of play can influence any game to our favour.
i just hope it happens because "form is temporal but class is permanent"
okocha has the class but with few games in is coffers he can achive the form needed.

he played all 270 minutes in 2002, we still left right after France and that was 8 years ago what do you think would happen now?

Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by BlueMagic2(m): 6:29pm On Nov 26, 2009
QUESTION? Are we calling him back, so that we can lift the WORLD CUP?
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by theviper1: 8:01pm On Nov 26, 2009
is JJ paying for this lobbying? cos i smell a big wolf (cat is very small in this case) why did he left his last team in england? i guess it was cos his legs have turned jelly.common pple,if we want to immortalize and thank him,it should not be by taking him to the world cup. he has stopped playing footie totally and is into biz full time. so lets allow sleeping footballers to sleep. bt if we want to take retired footballers to RSA come 2010,lets call in the services of Chairman Christian Chukwu and his squad that won the 1980 nations cup (those still living) angry

Since d likes of chuckwu,Odegbami et al are still alive & kicking,it'll be unfair if they are not invited.

okocha wasn't mentioned when we were struggling for qualification. Its unfair to the players that actually played us into qualification

Never, he is old and retired but obviously had an enviable career.

Africa and the world knew he is a legend.

Okija_juju:

BUT WE NEED EXPERIENCED PLAYERS LIKE JAYJAY. TELL ME FIVE ACTIVE MIDFIELDERS IN SUPER CHIKENS.
milkel is the only guy i can see in the midfiled. FOR EXAMPLE IN ENGLAND, David BECKHAM IS LISTED IN CAPELO'S SQUAD.
ALTHOUGH JAYJAY WILL STILL BE JAYJAY ANYDAY ANYTIME
As a proverb say " omode ki laso ko tun ni akisa bi agba"

WE STILL OKOCHA HE IS NOT TOO OLD TO PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM, WITH OKOCHA IN THE FIELD EAGLES WILL GO FAR BECAUSE HE IS MASTER AND STILL THE MASTER,
JAY JAY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by yousouph(m): 6:13am On Nov 28, 2009
The call for Okocha to be at SA 2010 should be for a record setting. He would be the only Nigeria to have paticipated in Four world cups if he make it to the mundial with 5 minutes cameo. Otherwise, we don't need him. On the other hand, jay jay inclusion may deprive a player appearing at the world cup for the 1st time which he may not have the chance again.
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by novaman: 5:45pm On Nov 28, 2009
We need this guy, let him just give us like 6months of his retired career, I heard he wanted to play for Gateway, that will be good, then if he proof to have the type of form we like to see then we can call him back to support us at the nations cup and world cup; there are many good stadium right now and all he needs to do is join one of the local clubs training with them like every other player and play about 15 to 20 matches; we have good strikers in Osaze, Martins, Nsofor, Ikechukwu, all they need is a composed mid fielder to supply them with good passes; while Mikel do the good job at the defencive mid field area like his does for Chelsea.; so while Okocha is used we can bring in someone like Rabiu to understudy him.
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by snj: 5:24am On Nov 30, 2009
No doubt Bros JJ was a great player, but the call 4 his inclussion in the team now is like a plot to ruin him completely. What do you guys think will be on record 4 him if players like messiless messi, Drogba and other kids have the opportunity to play against him? Hnrabls, its wise to allow him make more money with the reputation he had on the pitch. Besides, he didn`t show any interest in second term.

we nijas should concentrate on building another Tunisia '94 squad. Not another France '98 Rufai.
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by emekairo(m): 10:22am On Nov 30, 2009
Dear NLs,
The fact remains that the Super Eagles we currently have need this guy - Jay Jay. And the QUE is " do we have a better midfielder than Okocha ?" Comparing the team with England or anyother team doesn`t make sense at all. We must/shud do with what we have. Great Pa Jay remains our best midfielder visible now. Thou, he`s getting old, but not as old as some italian 1st eleven players, he can still play football.
So, lets keep aside all the funny grunges about him and try see how eagles canĀ  make a way 4ward. His unique style of play & contribution is still needed
Pa Jay was our player, Pa Jay is our player, Pa Jay will always be our player - ex or current.
If super eagles had got a better midfielder now, certainly, we won`t be talking of okocha.
But since not, once again, lets do with what we have. Nobi fight !

We so love all our citizens who have in one way made us proud - even YOU ! cheesy

Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by Moranike: 5:15pm On Nov 30, 2009
For goodness sake, let's leave jay-jay alone, he has done his best for naija and let him rest and b a technical member, it will be fooish for him to go to world cup to be a shadow of himself while there are younger ones who can play his role. Jay-jay u're a big boy please continue on the sidelines and give your technical suggestions.
Re: Jay Jay Okocha For 2010 World Cup by Nezan(m): 5:56pm On Nov 30, 2009
Jay-Jay will be better than Kanu.

Nezan:

Jay-Jay will be better than Kanu.
@Nezan
E go better for you.
But not withstanding, they are both good. If Kanu can still play and we are happy, then, why not Jay Jay ? cheesy
