The house in question already had Most part of the External Walls Plastered.

Re: Finishing Our Beach House (new Dimension To Nigerian Architecture) by skimanski(m): 9:47pm On Jan 22, 2017
But Pictures show certain areas where the Plastering have been really poor. There had been no attention to straight lines and smoothness in anyway.

However its the reason why we are here! to stop complaining and get the Job done.

To start, we had to do lots of masonry adjustments internally. electrical adjustments and Mechanical Adjustment.

Re: Finishing Our Beach House (new Dimension To Nigerian Architecture) by FastShipping: 9:54pm On Jan 22, 2017
I doubt integrity of this structure. There are thousands of visible cracks everywhere. Why not tear it down and avoid future calamity? I know it is tough because the owner has spent a lot.

If you decide to help the owner do some corrections here and there and something happens to this structure in the future, they won't blame whoever constructed this house from foundation to roofing, Skimanski is the one they are likely to blame and put the blame on.

If I were you, I wouldn't touch it.

Did Eghosajonny build this house? It looks like eghosajonny projects. All his projects have their unique look. This particular one looks like his handwork. grin grin

The Cracks were as a result of Bad practice during brick works and plastering. The foundation done on the house was PILe. So Gods willing everything is OK.

@ fastshiping ,According to the pics supplied by skima" what am seen here is not a structural failure , just finishing cracking on the plastering stage which can caused by mixture ration of the fine aggregate and binder (cement) so tear down the structure might not necessarily needed here. Just my own view

The bad work practice couldn't have started from plastering stage. The contractor was careless and reckless from the get go....

Take a look at the bottom of the lintel and make a judgment.

Looked Like it to me too, but never ever got to see that project go further forward so couldn't get to compare and confirm. And besides, the guys that messed up the plastering is definitely not Next Home, because I met with the guy myself.

Fantastic!

These POP ceilings look perfectly okay for my taste. These guys that work with you or for you are something else. They are born to do this.

I'm currently uneasy with how the finishing of my house is going. We are at a critical stage that I cannot afford to keep seeing mistakes after mistakes due to lack of supervision. I bought some of the best available materials for the finishing of my house and I cannot wrap my head around it to see those materials mishandled by incompetent hands working on my house without adequate supervision too. The supervision on the work is 4 / 10.

The next two weeks going to be critical. I have to assess the level of work done to this stage and decide if the same hands can continue to work there. I have big decision to make.

Yes, I will send you some updates. I just want this stage they are doing now to finish between this weekend and middle of next week before I take a stock.

The EBM guy disappointed since November. I had to get police to arrest him before he came back to his senses. We've had few setbacks there. Cable being pulled out of the wall and stolen. Few disappointment here and there. Not having windows there slow things down since they came to steal cable there, so we decided to freeze the work till the EBM guy finishes the window. We were to continue at the end of November but the EBM guy who happened to be a nairalander messed things up. Hopefully he finally delivers the windows by end of this week.

Nairalanders have messed me up too. I dont know why it happens like that. I just hope they can realize what should be true priority and follow through properly.

Anyway, we are here anyday any time. You know we have grown now.
