This accident occurred around 9:25 am at Lekki Phase 1 bus stop, Lagos. The brake of a commercial bus failed and led to a crash. One person died and several others were injured.

Lagos Rescue team arrived at the scene to attend to the victims.

It's time Lagos state government start taking off these rickety buses off the roads for good. Inspect vehicles before issuing the road worthiness certificate. This doesn't exclude the crazy looking trucks too, emitting thick black fumes everywhere.

did you read what the op wrote before posting the pictures he said brake failure caused the accident you are mentioning bad roads.

I wonder how long it would take Lagos State Government before they would start sanctioning those rickety buses plying the roads. Government should partner with the private sector and fashion out ways through which modern buses can be purchased and replace all these.

In the meantime, they should also try and organize frequent training programmes for these drivers.

You don't know anything about this issue. The place the accident occurred (Lekki Phase 1 Bus Stop) is NOT A BAD ROAD! It's on the Lekki-Epe Expressway and the road is as clean and smooth as any road can be. Blame the driver for over-speeding and brake failure, NOT ANY BAD ROAD!
