Yes! Everyone talks about how plantain is profitable and how you can make billions of pounds from plantain, but a lot of these promoters of plantain suckers tend to shy away from a crucial part of plantain farming, which is the area of marketing. I for one think harvesting your plantain and loading it to Mile 12 and the likes like many farmers are doing is not only less profitable and business dumb, it is also extremely tedious and the volatility of the markets makes maximum profits all the more unpredictable. Therefore, are there companies in Nigeria or outside Nigeria that are interested in bulk purchase of plantain or must such plantain be converted to flour to have any hope of exportation. It will really go a long way to help a lot of farmers and intending farmers to get a realistic and profitable way to which their plantains could be sold in bulk as opposed to just literally telling people how 1 acre can yield 50 million dollars. Marketing is an area of plantain farming that cannot be over flogged. |

It is wise to first look out for market before production start Every wise investor settle the marketing aspect before looking at the profitability of the business . That is why a lot of people prefer CONTRACT FARMING , where investors/farmers don't need to bother about who or how to sell their produce. Call Gbenga for contract farming in Jatropha, moringa, pig, turkey day old production ,local chicken egg production, wad goats, sugarcane,Castor, bee wax, soya beans, etc on 08120528950. |
