Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose, on Monday said he will be partaking in the upcoming nationwide protest led by Innocent ‘Tuface’ Idibia.


In a post on his Twitter handle shortly after 10:00 p.m., Mr. Fayose said the organisers have his full backing to launch the protest which they said will be “massive”.
“To organisers of Feb. 5 “Enough is Enough” National Protest, you have my total support and I will be part of the protest,” the governor said.
Mr. Fayose is the latest public figure to queue behind the organisers of the demonstration, which is expected to hold simultaneously in different cities across the country.
Mr. Idibia, while announcing the protest last week, said the Buhari administration’s rudderlessness has left too many Nigerians languishing in poverty with little to be hopeful for about the future.
The police said they have been duly informed about the protest and will provide security for all participants, although the government called for patience and understanding amongst Nigerians.

as for those saying governor Fayose should not support or join in the protest I wonder how you think?

Some weeks ago, a video went viral on social media after the LAUTECH students staged a peaceful protest to the Oyo State governor's office. I believe most of us have not forgotten that?

That scenerio was compared to another video of a similar protest against the US government, which Barrack Obama had to respond to. He said something about how he would have "JOINED IN THE PROTEST IF HE COULD" because he understands that it was for a good reason.

I can't upload the video here, but I know some Nairalanders saw it as well.

I believe that even members of the body can fight for a just cause if the head is being negligent of it's duties.

Buhari's ineptitude and clueless government is the issue being tackled right now and not Fayose's government.

No need for any politician to join the protest. They are all the same. Fayose getting involved in this protest will forfeit the whole essence of the protest and turn it to a joke

I think he is first of all a citizen despite being a gov.
Anyone should be free to join and we should be sensible enough not to let politics blind our minds.

This protest is long overdue. Hunger and hardship knows no party or tribe. We should all come out and protest against the hardship and bad governance in the land. #40 bread have become #150 within the time this government came into power. Is that not enough reason to protest? Has your #40k salary increased to #150k?
I campaign for Mr president but 3 month into his administration, i discovered apc as a party does not have a programme that will lift the masses. They ban importation of rice without any plan to grow our own, they keep on blaming the past govt, have u ever seen any athlete that is always looking back win any meda? This govt need to be woken up. They should know that this is how we were telling jonathan administration to change but they did not listen until they were booted out. Nooo. Tuface and other organisers of the protest should quickly dissociate their protest from Fayose or any other politician for that matter. The protest is supposed to be against bad governance at all levels including Fayose's poor government in Ekiti. Fayose marching alongside Tuface will seriously dent the image and message of the protest.
