The much awaited Suzuki Super Carry van has been launched in Nigeria, authorised dealer, Boulos Enterprise Limited said today. The van will sell for 4.1 million and two had been delivered to Rodinia Hotels.

According to the dealer, the vehicle was designed, created and manufactured at the Boulos factory in Ikeja. Olusegun Adekoya, Quality Control Manager at Boulos said “There was a real buzz in the factory, we fabricated the van units in under sixteen hours, as production steps up and we become more familiar with the process the manufacturing time will decrease. It was great to see them drive out, as made in Nigeria means made by Nigerians.”

Titi Olodun, Marketing Manager boasted that the Super Carry is the most tried and trusted one tonne van in the world.
She added that the van is sold in 192 countries since it was introduced in 1961.In its 12th generation, Olodun insisted that the van is one of the most reliable in the world.

The launch price at Naira 4.1 million is two million less than any other competitor’s vehicle. The engine of the vehicle is the tried and tested Suzuki 1.2 litre petrol, which is also fitted to the Suzuki Swift, Vitara, Splash, Baleno, Kizashi and many others, Olodun said.

The Super Carry is backed by a comprehensive warranty and dealer service.

Additionally, the company stated that it stocks over $5 million spare parts at any one time, so there is never a worry for spares.

Doesn't look rugged.
Did they forget Nigerian roads?
Ground clearance is too low and tyres too small.

Very poor for Nigerian road. The tires are too small, it looks awkward. Infact, this is an upgrated keke and 4.1 million is too high

Oga that is less than N2m during the GEJ led administration.

Buhari has destroyed everything, so don't be surprised. Do you know a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge cost about N400,000?

To reduce cost and weight, and improve fuel efficiency, they went with smaller frames, lighter carriage, and smaller tires.
It's supposed to be a local-run kind of vehicle, 20km or less radius.

Whether it's appropriate for our roads - or our propensity for overload - is another matter. grin
Of course, we will see people trying to transport 3tonnes of gravel on top of it.

First of all, how much is a fairly used Dyna or a Nissan Cabster? Look at that thing, its only good for Indians as they are the only ones that make this tiny things.

You fit a 1.2 liter engine into a vehicle meant to carry load. Even those keke used for carrying load in Onitsha look more Agile than this

I would prefer to invest my 4.1 m into buying of land or building a small bungalow rather than buying this crap that won't even last me in terms of durability for 2 years.

Not true. The springs on the tyres allow it to bounce over obstacles. Moreso, this is the model of this van. They can't be modifying it without the parent's company.
