ONE EX-GOVERNOR, ONE PROFESSOR AND ONE PROPHET

An Ex-Governor
“I was in government when the likes of Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Aganga, Sanusi were crying that we should save; we collectively said we don’t want savings, and we are now in this mess.”
- Peter Obi, Ex-Governor of Anambra State, 23 January, 2017

A Professor:
“I will show that while you are introducing austerity measures and soon to eviscerate the citizens, our public finance is haemorrhaging to the point that an estimated N30 trillion is missing or stolen or unaccounted for, or simply mismanaged — under your watch… The issues at stake are too grave to be trivialized through name-calling. As I write, the Naira exchange rate to the dollar is at N215 (from N158 a few months ago) and unless oil price recovers, this is just the beginning...”
- Professor Charles Soludo,, “Under Your Watch” February 1, 2015

A Prophet:
“Everyone has a portion to be blamed. Let us share the blame and move the country forward. My president, President Buhari has good intentions. A king’s intention cannot be carried out properly without the support of his subjects. He needs your support to lead us out of the valley. Nigeria, we are in a valley. It is not our president that put us in the valley but generations”
- Prophet JB Joshua. ”Prophetic Message For 2017” 30 December 2016”

If you cannot believe in Nigeria’s most eulogized Ex-Governor in recent times for his personal experience and achievements, believe in the Professor for his uncommon knowledge and understanding. If you cannot believe in the Professor, believe in the Prophet for his anointing and the power of his words.

President Buhari’s aggressive drive to retrieve some of the stolen funds requires every citizen’s support; it is the only immediate source of revenue for now. Those who looted the nation’s treasury have rendered Nigeria poor, while their families bruise our faces with glaring insults. There is no other revenue source for this government to accomplish its programmes, if the thieves are not made to cough out what they stole.

Oil remains our greatest challenge. Petrodollars is disappearing as other cheaper sources of energy have clearly appeared on the horizon. For us in this country, there are four grave factors: (1). Nigeria cannot meet its production quota because vandals keep bombing production facilities and pipelines, (2), Oil prices will not recover as soon as we expect, (3). Corruption is fighting back, and (4). Nigerians are in hurry and in doubt.

The issues facing Nigeria today are beyond politics, religious and tribal sentiments, and emotional outburst.

Therefore, the most logical way to steer the economy is diversification and infrastructural development, which the government is pursuing. The nation has been looted and raped, and it’s time for rational Nigerians to step up and support the government in the fight against corruption and rebuilding the economy.

But we must also play our part by being patient and believing in the Government of Muhammadu Buhari to move us out of this economic darkness and usher us into a new era of economic prosperity.

God bless Nigeria.
