The NAiraland ID: Layrico5 with phone number: +234 813 527 3535 contacted me to unlock an IPhone locked to sprint and I requested for him to pay before service as this is norms for unlocking. The next thing he utter out of his mouth was that "Is this a scam or what" and I got angry and blasted him accordingly.

I created this thread because this person promise to deal with me and set me up as u can see from the screenshot below because I refuse to let u him pay after service. If anything happen to me or my family member this is a clear proof that it is from the owner of Briscon pharmaceutical with the username: Layrico5

The onus is on you to calmly explain your terms and reasons to your customers even in the wake of the customers provocation and anger.

"Is this a scam or what" is not an abuse. Money is hard to come by these days.
He's paying you and so will be skeptical.

Best solution is to uninstall the app and reinstall

Don't ever use such words "because of 20k, and the likes". I don't treat customers differently whether your work is worth N1m or N5. It makes no difference.

Just make your terms clear and leave it at that. I also render a service and my terms are clear. 40% upfront and 60% on completion. I've had clients who come asking me to put all my energy on the work without pay. It's not too much of a task to decline even if you're called SCAM or not.

The man is funny though, he renders services as well online and expects others to do a pay after service job. That will never work ONLINE. It is easier for a satisfied customer to disappear after service has been rendered than for a service provider to do same.

Be that as it may, business is business. It is wrong to call people names without proofs. It is however wrong to respond rudely to seemingly rude clients. Allow them go with their wahala.

I am strongly against what happened on this thread.
What the op did is against nairaland rules and he's to be issued a ban on this.
He posted someone's details and pictures. Whatever differences they have should be settled amicably by both parties.
I will advise that the other party @ layrico should be unbanned as he has not done anything bad here from the conversations between both parties.
op should have explained his terms better to the client and if he was ok by it, all these wouldn't have happened.
I will appreciate if layrico is unbanned and his pictures and details taken down.

I think the mod's measure on this issue was too harsh.

The man has been banned..

Remember this issue happened on WhatsApp, not on Nairaland.

mynd44, lalasticlala, Seun, dominique or whoever embraced that measure should have waited to see the other side of the issue. Since the issue didn't happen on Nairaland, why ban him for 10, 20 years when he obviously didn't see this thread to post his side of the story?



Refer to my earlier post, you'll see my honest opinion.

Nairaland rule 10 says;

10. Don't violate the privacy of any people e.g. by posting their private pics, info, or chats without permission

I'm not saying you weren't threatened (whether real or empty). The issue is that it didn't happen on Nairaland. Nairaland mods shouldn't have issued that measure as they are not a law enforcement agency that investigates private chats of individuals.

About the apology, you both acted wrongly. If he must apologize, you too should be prepared to do same.

I don't need to say more about the pictures and details you posted, but do not forget that internet is almost free. Anyone can come online tomorrow to post your pictures and create a disturbing tag (even when you meant no harm).

I hope the mods will look into this issue.


Sorry nysot, I wish I could do more. One of my biz handle equally got a ban some time last year (about 15 years ban). I got that ban because I posted an advert on my front-page thread. Whereas, a guy called importexpot has been doing same almost on a daily basis on the frontpage to promote his online affiliate marketing biz and no one has banned him. In fact, his threads make front-page almost on a per hour basis.

I sent a couple of private mails and nothing was done. An assistant eventually created an alternate handle to keep the biz afloat cos I almost gave up.

In sum, you guys should keep in mind that the mods may not act on this. You've done your bits, take it further by sending private mails to the mods i/c. Hopefully, your case should be different.
