Good day pals, i believe everyone is fine.
I just want to use these medium to enlighten us a bit about speed limiters.
It is no more news that the federal government of Nigeria has began the enforcement of the installation of speed limiting device in vehicles since 31st January, 2017, there have been a lot of thoughts and opinions on the subject matter, but here are a few things everyone should know as regards the federal governments view on speed limiters, as it is wiser to take caution than to face penalties.

The concept of speed limiting was informed by the high rates of car crashes that occur on a daily basis. In recent times studies has proved that road traffic accidents claim more lives than the deadly Malaria Fever. As part of its commitment to manage Road Traffic in Nigeria in spite of our current road condition, Federal Road Safety Commission has identified speeding as a major contributing factor to the high level of Road Traffic Accidents and attendant causalities in Nigerian Roads.
In a bid to create a safer motoring environment across the country, Federal Road Safety Commission in line with the resolutions reached with Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON), National Automotive Design and Development Council of Nigeria (NADDC), and other stakeholders has made it compulsory for all vehicles nationwide especially and starting with commercial vehicles (buses, trailers, tankers and trucks) to install Speed Limiting Devices with a deadline of October 1st, 2016.

haven stated out all these, my candid advice as a licensed marketer, technician/installer and user of this device are as followed:
1. We all know that vehicles ware out with age, so as a driver, the best good you can do yourself and other road users is to know your vehicle and be sincere to admit when age is telling on the it.

2. Also do well to be sure your vehicle at its preset speed limit can outrun the one you intend to overtake before making any attempt to do so.

3. Please don't ever try to quickly overtake a vehicle ahead of u on a single lane double track road when there is a vehicle coming in opposite direction, as some folks always drive as if they have no destination, but at the moment they notice your vehicle beside them to overtake them, they also begin to accelerate in competition, this is not safe for you if there be an oncoming vehicle, also the limiter might not allow you compete favorably.

4. Ensure to take caution whenever the device notifies you of getting beyond the stipulated speed limit programmed for your vehicle, some of the devices give buzzing sounds to notify drivers, while others holds down the accelerator from exceeding the limit, while some functions in both ways. so, whichever you have installed, get to understand it, and work with it appropriately.
