"Dreams" is just the answer. Dreams, visions, and transmissions of both past and future events are the real time machines. Two thousand years ago, someone entered one such machine and he was told to "write", hence we have the book of Revelations today, the only book in the Bible that was entirely transmitted which is why as was admonished at the end of Revelations, no one should add or remove from the book of Revelations.
