you dont seem to be serious. put the bread in the toaster and switch on power to the toaster, duh!
Re: Help On How To Toast Bread by Nobody: 3:04pm On Dec 11, 2009
plug in the toaster, put the sliced bread in the slots provided.

look for the settings knob

adjust the setting to light or dark- whichever you prefer.

light means the bread will be lightly toasted

dark means it will come out darker and crispier

the toast should pop up when done

unplug the appliance if necessary
Re: Help On How To Toast Bread by Nobody: 3:12pm On Dec 11, 2009
if you have something like this

you set the front knob to light, medium or dark

then pull down the side lever on the right- this will start the toasting process and it will pop up when the toast is done.

the bread slices go in the top slots colored silver. One slice in each. Use presliced bread preferably- ie not the one you sliced yourself.

walk to the kitchen
open your shelf
remove your pot from the shelf
close your shelf
enter your pot in the sink and on your tap to fill the pot with water
off your tap
carry your pot on top of the stove
on your stove
fire the water until it starts to remove bubbles
off your stove when bubbles have come

you have now boiled water.

@ all the haters

e don do- stop acting like you never used firewood to cook before.

bunch of pretenders.

Like every house in Nigeria has toaster like abroad, abi?

bush people grin

How many people even eat sliced bread back home- no be Agege chunky bread una dey chop?

Me I no go pretend- if not for visa wey take me overseas wetin concern me with toaster.

when oyibos and AA pull up photos of people living in the bush or slums, tell them we have toasters in Naija.

I'm sure the poster is serious. I thought she was joking until I realised she probably wasnt.

However, she should have titled the thread: "When did you get your first toaster"

or "What were your experiences the first time you toasted bread/made toast"

you know- sound more posh for the sake of the sensitive people

generally, people who want to make toast in Nigeria, do it in the oven, or fry the bread.

No need to panic peeps.

Tpia, you have tried. However, browse through the poster's threads. She appears to be just seeking for attention. She's recently married, lives in PH, and I don't believe she just doesn't know how to use a toaster. Unless she came straight from the villla. But, even then, she must have at least gone through sec sch, right?

Or maybe her hubby has one of those huge, oven-style toasters meant for pizza. You may never know. Lol

I'll check her past threads, but its quite possible she really doesnt know how to use a toaster. Toasters are a western invention and even so, they werent always commonplace there like they are now.

Toast in Nigeria (verb) means something quite different from the western version (noun), and if people dont eat toast, why should they need a toaster? Hence her question shouldnt be that surprising but for the fact that a lot of NLers are based abroad and have forgotten what life is like back home. It may be embarassing but thats life.

In any case, she clearly got her first toaster albeit rather late. She's not alone in the world, I'm sure.
