I am an agriculturist by profession and not a practising farmer. Crops like cassava, plantain suckers, amaranthus (vegetable), groundnut, yam can be planted on the piece of land. This could u yield in minimum of 5x the money you invested after 6months.
Do your feasibilty, costings, estimations and market survey.
But i will suggest you speak to a farmer for more advise... My one kobo advice....

Personally, the 20k is okay considering the added security the fence offers and also within an urban setting.

Where do sellers of veggies such as lettuce, cucumbers, aubergines (egg plant) in PH source them from?

It shld b from jos.

Then go into them, yours will be cheaper than those coming from Jos.

Eggplants takes about 11 weeks, some varieties are 8-9 weeks.

Lettuce takes about 7-8 weeks. They are several varieties.

Cucumber have varieties that are ready for harvest by the 7th week.

This is the problem with the Niger Delta people. Anything you want to do with their land, they ask for money even if it will benefit them. They rather let that land waste away. Sad!
