buckles and strap modeling in blender.

Never knew I can achieve this .

Also, I tested micro displacement mapping .

I am still battling with Blendshapes for this Incubi

Though I said i won't rigg this Guy/Gurl...I've changed me mind.

I will test my animation skills wt him/her. Make IC jump from a tree and chase.

I will, must, integrate it into a Live shot.

So with this Character project:
- I aim to combine biped with quadruped rig systems.
- Do Geometry tracking with Nuke (live action shot)
- Make belts and buckles (major aim)
- Animate

My Arsenal viz:
- Blender, zbrush, Nuke or Voodoo

Oh. I forgot to add Crazy Maya.

Belt finished.

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by OKX(m): 12:11am On May 21, 2017
nice, you could tweak the straps individually to randomise their appearance, they currently look obviously duplicated.

good job so far, following....

I can't believe it boss I have laid my hand on blender boss it's like I am flying a rocket to space when I don't even know how to drive a car I have tons of books on it but it seems they are to fast for !y understanding I follow a video on how to make a cup I did make the cup eventually but the cup eventually has some comma where I got it wrong I don't know navigating like rotating seems hard I don't get the right process for it, my laptop mouse use synaptic which can imitate two finger slide as MMB but I need a tutorial on how to understand each process one by one so I won't just be copying hw to make things
for example while making the cup I was pressing some number according to the tutor and mesh was changing shape but why that particular number was used and what number gives particular shape was not explained so I can't tell if .07 is the fix number or I can use my choice
pls help a brother with real begginer tutorial
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 8:51pm On Jun 10, 2017
hi Femarse, Sometimes while learning a tutorial its best you do as u are told.....believe me, trying to know what each button do atimes can deviate u from d fun,

I will suggest you go to blenderguru.com
that's where almost all begineers start in their journey with blender. Andrew x super good.

Modeling a Cup x super boring...low but its necessary. U will learn d basics and interface with it. Next for you should be a coiled rope. Try to do it this way and you would leap.

That's how I work, u learn a simple task and jump headlong into a not so simple task. Blenderguru has a nice tutorial on how to make a coiled Rope. try it.

I am planning for a new model, since I am almost rounding up with Jesu. So I ve these candidates to try my hands on.

No 1: I came across this old photo on primitive scarification, My feverish mind is beating seriously for her.

No 2: Beyonce. Just because of the layered textures. and opportunity to go deep with Substance painter.

No 3: bird: I ve never done a bird before. Thats the only reason..

No 4: Angel Micheal.....Just being ambitious

Plz is there any animation studio around that I can join, even as a freelance....Any one wishing for a partnership, I am up for GRABS
dude I'm wowed at ur works. I have two questions.
Abeg, which software did you use in doing all these and the picture on ur profile
2. What course can one study to learn it and how lucrative is it.
How does this drawing generate income

Well, Lie Mohamme said The FG will focus on the Animation industry.

@lofty, I use mainly 4 software

Blender: Character apparels, Environ layout, Hair, Water and Rendering
Maya: Rigging and Now Animation
Zbrush: Major Sculpting and wrinkles
Substance Painter : Painting job.

I have a Surprise....
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 11:10pm On Jun 12, 2017
Let me introduce Lord Anonymous Reslin to you guys.

He x a renegade on Planet D5 somewhere in the Milky way.

Lord Anonymos heard about my adoption of Incubi and the powers that he/she had and decided to take a fight to my door steps.... lol

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 11:15pm On Jun 12, 2017
He sent one his best Commanders, Imperator Dreadlocks, to fight Incubi.
The guy, unfortunately, could not stand the subtle pollens floating in Earthz atmosphere. He constantly sneezes but still looks lethal.

take a look at him. ....

hez hiding his face now.

But I, as the Rat eating away the carpet of the Universe, will take the battle to him squarely.

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 11:28pm On Jun 12, 2017
OK, back to Earth.
Don't know why I am always prone to feverish fantasies.

Actually, I am trying ma hands on a fight animation. Its a first for me. Inspired mostly by going via Reidkrugs thread. I won't have hi hopes for this , since its my first foray into creature animation. I expect to break all d laws woefully and Make Pixar send assassins after me..lol

So its going to be a lotta drunken walk cycle, thumping, Creature screams and fist cuffs.

let's see who wins. By the way, I learnt a new rigging process.

Actually, I have two projects running concurrent. This fight scene and a tracked scene that would involve me letting Incubi climb over my hand and leap onto the monitor of my workstation. This particular scene was shot with a Gionee mobile.

What I did not do with these x a facial Rig... Which x bad. But I have an expressive mouth controls anyway

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 11:31pm On Jun 12, 2017
Lord Dregga was donated to me by Ryan Leslin. Thankie.
Rigging and now Animation is/will be done by Me
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 8:56am On Jun 15, 2017
Lord Dregga has revealed his visage.
He has recovered from his sneezing fit.

He x ugly.

Incubib x more attractive.

I decided to add some rig ctrls to his tentacle like dreads. Want it to move like that of octopus Chief pirate in Pirates of d Carribean.

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 9:17am On Jun 15, 2017
What else did I worked on last nite?

I added d ability to retract his blades like Logan. That feature came about via the help of nodes and stuff. Rigging at times can be broadening.

In fact, I don't think CG is for anyone who is not Science or Maths inclined. If you hate Maths or Codes abeg don't go near 3D.

I also hope to rework Incubiz Face shapes, I am finally understanding d rudiments of rigging faces via blendshapes in Maya. Also I added the ability of Incubi to retract his jutting fangs. Its not LordDregga that will have all d fun stuff.

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 9:29am On Jun 16, 2017
I wonder how one can create a ragdoll effect in Maya. I know how to do it Blender... but here x sort of hard.
I just gave Incubi a Sucker punch and its supposed to fall down with a bounce , you know.

wonder how I can do that?

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by OKX(m): 12:04pm On Jun 17, 2017
U need to learn d bullet system in Maya, then u can incorporate the ragdoll effect.

U can checkout YouTube for tutes.
Good going.

am just via with some tutorials on it now. Will implement later tonite. Youtube x really ur best friend when lost atimes. Thankie Sir.

Meanwhile, I took a break. I mean this is Sunday night and I don't really feel like animating. So I'd a little caricature. Noting Serious, just something to relax me neurones .

Maybe when I am via with this incubi project I will develop it further.

I have been using the same Apeman's eyez all over. From Jesu, to Logan, To Incubi....lol. Well the reason x, My Photoshop expired and I am lazy and I only have one eye texture..

So Sunday nite sketch it is...

OK, that wraps up todayz Sunday Sketch.

Just a mood enhancing sketch for me. I am sort of worried about this country...I wonder y I should be??

Nah. I shouldn't be at all.

OK back to my animation. Animating x just a tough cup. kudos to all those that it has become second skin to.

I add a grimace and my signature pimples. I love pimples...

Should have used bigger teeth but not in the mood. As this isn't a scheduled project afterall

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 9:53pm On Jun 24, 2017
I have done something too ridiculous to showcase. ..

After rendering out the blocked animation I discovered that that area of CG x not my calling...Jesus

Everything got k leg. I had to take para to calm my fuming heart. Wasted phucking effort.

The road to hell x paved with good intentions, I guess.

Will Neva touch animations again....Ever

The only area I have a penchant for in CG is Xter design and Rigging, may be Tracking and Hair...other than that, I will no longer deviate...

so angry with my self now. that time wasted (2 weeks almost) could have given me a new Character.... I feel like setting things on fire. Phuck animation. Stupid time wasted....
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by OKX(m): 1:06am On Jun 26, 2017
Bruv, surely u didn't expect to turn up a masterpiece based on two weeks of effort?

Frustration is a healthy part of d learning process provided it drives u forward.

Character animation is d culmination of all d lessons in animating, hence it's a challenging place to start, but as u already know, it takes time to polish ur game......so pick urself up, n reboot that system.

I'm sure u wouldn't expect a newbie to transition to ur modeling level after two weeks effort.

Good going bruv.
U could post ur wip for possible tips from artists either here or privately.

I do agree, not everyone is cut out for every area of animation, but ur case sounds to me more like d normal frustration of mastering new skills, rather than an inability to.

Ur varied skill set showcased so far, suggests a generalist. I do believe u can do this
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 9:03am On Jun 26, 2017
@Okx, I apologize for my expletives up there.

I Neva knew I could be this frustrated. Usually thought that I have a strong heart. But that work threw me off.
Perhaps, I overreach my boundaries.

Thank you Sir. God willing I will GO back to it
Sometime in the future. Like you said I should be, ought to have a thorough understanding of the field Animation. It has to be by constant practice.

but to calm my frayed nerves, I will just do a new character and then reopen that animation. The failure even made me hate Incubi. as If he's a living thing sef...lol
Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by nijabazaar: 11:11am On Jun 26, 2017
I went back to my logana and did a few revisions.
1. Removed the original bandages and replaced them with a more appealing one using the shrinkwrap modifier in blender.

2. Following constructive criticisms on Insta, I re-worked the material indexes for rubber, Latex, Igneous rock and polyester used on the model.

3. I also changed the background. Was hoping to achieve perspective.

4. Then I
increase the strand steps for the hair.

3. Removed the belt and replaced it with a silly Jigida cool
4. At least, my world outlook is brighter now than it was the past days.

My attempts at a tatoo over the breasts came out, well, unappealing...

am also trying to add some facial expressions to the rig that I'm preparing for the gorilla Man

Re: My Cabinet Of 3D Curiosities by OKX(m): 1:50pm On Jun 26, 2017
That's d spirit.
Folks neglect d basics and it returns to haunt their work later in their career.

Start with simple goals, bouncing balls to get a feel for timing and spacing, shifting weights etc.

Google a list of actions that u can progressively animate to help u progress from simple to more complex moves.

When u have learnt how d basic principles r applied in these motions, combining them in character animation becomes easier.

In d meantime, also study posing. Go thru lots of comic books to compare dynamism in the poses. It helps a ton, both in ur animating n still compositions.

Ur Loganas pose could b pushed a lot more to capture d energy and action of d xter.
Possibly lower her upper body a bit more, arch her back some and extend her arms more, maybe increase d tension in her limbs.

Good going!
