Should I Cook For My Boyfriend? by nene1: 9:50pm On Dec 12, 2009
So, I've been dating this guy for about 4 months now. Some weekends (usually saturday, b/c i go to school) I would go out with him and some times I would spend the day at his place (we DONT have sex though and I have never slept over). So I will be visiting him next Saturday so I wanted to surprise him and make him an african meal so this time he wouldn't have to spend money for us to eat out. Is it to early in the relationship to get in his kitchen and cook? I don't want to do anything that would put me in an awkward situation.

go ahead and cook for him.
you can also suggest you two watch movies while eating

just make sure that one thing does not lead to another. . . . that is, if you are not ready to ''walk that road'' with him. wink

Yes, you understand. That is also another worry. I don't want to walk that road before I'm married. I want to avoid that part. I try to have us do things that won't tempt us to go there. Besides, it's only been 4 months anyway. He hasn't asked me to have sex with him yet though. When he does I guess I just have to explain it to him. We're both muslims so pre-marital sex is a big no go area for us.

Its possible. You only need to have great self-control and discipline. Rather than cooking something elaborate (since its your first time at his place), prepare something quick and simple. . . . indomie wit plantain or plantain with eggs.

the earlier you let him know your stand on pre-marital sex, the better it is for you two. cos he might be nursing different ideas in his head

Cook for him, but if your recipe is delicious, next appreciation mood might follow. Beware!!

Its funny how ladies think. If a guy cooks for his girl friend, then he is romantic. But a girl would have to get advice from Nairalanders before she can cook for her boyfriend. Isn't that awkward.
I think you can cook for him as long as you don't start acting like an Iyawo afterwards. Cos that would freak him out

Maybe you should prepare the food outside the house and you both can eat it at the backyard or something like that, but try not to cook when it's raining or when it's cold.

Sist,you harsh no be small
I think she only asked a harmless question in view of the fact that she wants to be nice to the guy and at the same time avoid having sex with him(very commendable, they're just 4 months into the thingy).I fail to see how cooking for him will lead to sex if it's not on your mind.
