On monday evening after trying several times to contact the banks MD, we got a lead to an information on the banks official Facebook page. The message below was posted on the page to confirm our early claim.

Please note that this is a scam attempt, as FCMB has NOT requested any applications for scholarship and the email being used to receive said applications is NOT an FCMB email address.
All our offers and promotions will always be communicated through official means such as our website, official social media channels, newspaper publications and emails from the FCMB domain directly to customers.
We, therefore, encourage our fans, customers and the general public to disregard this fraud attempt and beware of any information not received through our official channels.
Please beware of fraudulent SMS, calls and emails asking for your personal information. FCMB would never call or text to ask you for your PIN or your bank account details.
