What is this for goodness sake? When Buhari passed through Heathrow was this how it looked like? Our leaders will travel to advanced countries and yet never ever copy their standards when it comes to infrastructure.

Nigeria's matter is enough to give someone a headache honestly. I am keen to see the airline that is going to land in this airport and risk the lives of its crew members.

Their foreign offices and insurance companies have warned them to steer clear from the north.

All intending foreign airlines to Abuja have Lagos and Accra as their alternates.

British Airways was forced on several occasions due to bad weather to divert to Accra even though Kano was having good weather.

I know this because I was on one of such flights. I asked the airline representative why we did not divert to kano pending the bad weather instead of Accra and he revealed to me that safety issues relating to terrorism barred them from using any northern airport

The major security issue in kaduna as a whole will not allow western airlines to operate into and out of Kaduna.

Which upgrade? They up loot not upgrade. They upgrade PH airport and still one of the worst airport in the world.

I guess the international flights would be ending in Ethiopia. The airport does not meet the security requirements....doesn't matter how pretty the terminal be...how perfect the airstrip is... security is key and that is lacking.

Lagos airport. Calabar airport. Started the upgrades in Abuja.

Built new airports in Uyo and Enugu.

Port Harcourt airport as it is now is not one of the worst in the world - it's given that ranking when it was undergoing major renovations that caused the closure of the main terminal.

Let us pity them and call it an interlocal airport. Little wonder why no other international airline accepted to land there. I don't even think they have the facilities to allow passengers board jumbo jets. It would have been a logistical nightmare for the major international airlines to land at this makeshift airstrip.
