VENUE OBAFEMI AWOLOWO STADIUM, LIBERTY ROAD, OFF RING ROAD, IBADAN, NIGERIA
1. TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
a. The tournament will be a knockout/elimination event of 2 rounds (white and black) per match. If there is a tie, both players will play 2 rapid games. If there is yet a tie, both players will play 2 blitz games. And if there is still a tie, the Armageddon will be played.
b. The time control will be 60/60 plus 30 seconds increment starting from move 1
c. The games will be played using DGT clocks, while the pairings and results will be seen on
www.chess-results-server.com , and a website that would be created for the purpose of this tournament
d. Draw offers are not allowed until after black's move 30
2. PRIZES
Round of 16 losers - N10,000 each
Quarter Finalists - N15,000 each
Semi Finalists - N25,000 each
Finalist - N50,000
Winner - N100,000
3. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
TIME CONTROL:
Rapid Qualifiers 15 minutes plus 30 seconds increment from move 1
Classical Tournament - 1 hour plus 30 seconds increment from move 1
Rapid Tie Break - 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment from move 1
Blitz Tie Break - 5 minutes plus 3 seconds increment from move 1
Armageddon Tie Break - 5 minutes plus 3 seconds increment from move 1 for white, and 4 minutes plus 3 seconds increment from move 1 for black, but white must win, while black needs a draw to win the match.

4. BOARD AND LODGE
Accommodation would be provided at the subsidiary rate at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan by the organizer (Mr Babatunde Ogunsiku)
5. REGISTRATION FEES
Each player showing interest in participating in this tournament is expected to pay a registration fee of N5,000 to the bank account that would be provided.
This fee is expected to be paid on or before the 1st of April, so as to know if there would be a need for the rapid tournament that would help select the unseeded 24.
After payment, player's full name, fide id, email address, phone number and date of birth should be sent to othims@gmail.com, for confirmation.
